I watched this movie this weekend and I actually didn't think it was too bad. I love Dane Cook's stand up, and I think this movie is better than Employee of the Month.

What's everyone else's thoughts?

Dane Cook was really cool like 2 or 3 years ago before every fucking bro in the country wanted to suck his balls. Since then, his comedy has gotten worse and the only good movie he was in was Waiting.

If we still had scene points I'd give you all of them. He doesn't even have punchlines anymore, he just stops in the middle of a thought and looks at the audience like a jackass and they laugh at his sad attempt to remain relevant.

but seriously now... i did not go see this movie, but frankly there is no way it was good.

Dane Cook is just not a good or funny actor. he just does not translate. he is a good standup, but he needs to get some better f'n material.

Jessica Alba made it tolerable for me. It also kind of helped me to think that, were I still in high school, I would've liked it a lot more. It was a throwback to the first American Pie days. Dane Cook always just reminds me of really dumb stuff I thought was funny when I was younger.

The A.V. Club did a pretty funny article on the commentary that came with the DVD (why they write articles on DVD commentary, I have no idea, but that's besides the point).

Tone of commentary: Chummy, self-congratulatory. Between quips, Cook talks about the project as if his Oscar were already being polished, calling it "the turning point in my life and career" and "the movie I dreamed about doing since starting stand-up."
