breaking up

well here is the situation i am in. i recently moved up to lincoln, ne and i moved in with my brother, his friend mike, mike's sister, and another roommate. basically about a month ago i started seeing his sister but ive decided that after i finish my basics here im going to move to nashville and finish school up there. the relationship was sort of serious from the start but now since ive started school and work, its all gonna be a lot right there and i just cant have a girlfriend now and plus i know i am going to be moving and it would seem to stupid to continue a relationship that you know will end b/c i am gonna be moving. basically i just let her know that i wanna talk and i have a feeling she knows i wanna break up but she doesnt know why or anything and i know im gonna let her know why and be honest but does anyone have any tips? b/c i really feel like shit about the whole thing but i think its better breaking up with her now.

yeah, man, be honest with her...its obvious youre thinking about her feelings and that you also arent doing it for any reasons other than being realistice.

if you're really desperate you could always use Homer's advice and write a postcard:

"Dear _____

Welcome to Dumpsville. Population: You."

I wouldn't suggest it, though, since it seems like you have the right idea about the subject.

and please dont be pissed at the little homer comment...it was meant to lighten the mood a little, not to upset you in any way. I totally know where you're coming from and, for me at least, it's always easier to approach the healing process with a good attitude.

yeah i would at least be honest with her too because if not she will also hate you later if you let her think that you are breaking up with her for different reasons...good luck

alright thanks guys, i talked with her and she just wants me to think about everything first so that is what im doing. i loved the homer comment b/c thats the type of person i am, cracking a joke to lighten the mood. but im still pretty sure that i still wanna break up and just be friends with her, but im just doing what she asked, i figured it wouldnt hurt.

if you're still thinking you want to break up, then you should just go ahead and do it... don't hang on and make it hurt more than it already does. believe me, i know. it's a sucky situation, and it just makes things more complicated...
