gets pissed off at like fake "punk" kids who think they are too good for other music. here's an example...

the other day I went to go see Ozomatli in concert (if you've never heard any of their stuff, I would definitely recommend it), which is like a hip-hop/brass/flemenco band all rolled into one -- it's a different but interesting sound.

anyway, there was this couple in the crowd, dressed in "goth" clotes (haha the guy was wearing System of a Down...yeah thats different, radio rock) and they refused to move for any of ozomatli's set. In fact, the girl took every opportunity possible to give the band the finger.

so im thinking "wow she must like some heavy stuff to hate this band so much" then i remembered the other bands there: diffuser, hoobastank, and all american rejects (im not a big fan of these 3 bands, but i needed to see ozomatli). so im not sure which of these bands this guy and girl thought were so punk? its not like theyre mainstream or anything, you know haha.

wow sorry if this made no sense, but it pissed me off. respect other peoples musical tastes. i clapped for every song of every set of those people at that concert -- they all deserve it after all the hard work theyve put in to get to that point. there is no need to disrespect someone like that, especially if its just the fact that they dont play the type of music you like.

Yes I fucking like GC and simple plan and w/e. But then I also like bands like Converge, Slipknot, Mushroomhead.

yes i was pissed about something thinking they have the right to judge a bands music by giving them the finger during the middle of the show.

but, yeah, i also agree with the point that people shouldnt be so close minded in terms of music -- thinking that the only good thing to listen to is what they happen to like. its this close mindfulness which made these 2 people think they looked cool flipping the bird to a band giving their all up on the stage and in the crowd (they freaking played their last song in the middle of the crowd, which was nuts)

anyway, all im saying is that, in no way, is someone obliged to like any certain band. do i like GC? no. do i like rancid? not really, at least not their new stuff. But i still have respect for all of the guys in the bands. they worked amazingly hard to get where they are and they really deserve the success. (haha ok maybe not the american idol people, but still).

The other day my friend and I were on a bus. And there was this girl sitting across from us, who dressed all typical 'punk' whatever you term it. I don't know if it even has a term, but it was just like all black and sending out that vibe.

So, she says to the girl, My friends (meaning me and our other friend) are going to a Brand New Concert. Just for no apparent reason, because she has to say something in every situation. And the girl goes "Brand New, they are so mainstream" and was all nasty about it.

So my friend goes, "Shut up you fucking punk" And that's the end. It was funnier then it comes out.

Yea, I know what you mean know, I was just making sure you werent one of those people who thinks they know everything about "punk" and whoever doesnt agree with them is a sellout or some other bullshit. I know alot of kids like that (the drummer in my band for one) but alot of time, kids like that can introduce you to alot of new music too.
