View Full Version : Other bands like Thrice?

I'm getting kind of sick wading through tons of generic emo/screamo/poppunk bands. I think Vheissu is one of the most brilliant albums lately and I keep wondering why I can't find much else out there that stands out.

Are there any other bands that truly have a UNIQUE sound and do a lot with various instruments? And that aren't whiny screamo type stuff?

Thursday, dawg.

As far as bands pushing themselves and going for different types of sounds, there's quite a few. But none of them really sound like Thrice. Try out bands like Anathallo and Sufjan Stevens.

Sponge-Wax Ecstatic is unique, but it doesn't sound like Thrice.

I've never seen the Thursday comparison. I'm a huge Thursday fan, but Thrice has always been kinda meh to me.

Oh, I've seen the comparison, I just meant I never completely understood or agreed with it. I like Thrice, they just don't seem that similar to Thursday.

I don't think they are necessarily similar either.

Thursday mostly bores me.

i wouldnt say thursday and thrice sound alike but whenever i hear thrice, thursday always comes to mind and the other way around.

Ok, so to all of you! Rise Against sound VERY SIMILAR to thrice, i also suggest RED.

Same here, thirce and thursday always seem to go hand and hand when i hear one of their names. i think it might be because i started listening to them both at the same time...
