Call to Arms (My Only Fear) is such an unexpectedly wonderful song. The machine gun Blink verses with the patented "epic" choruses... wow!

Sirens, Lifeline, Everything's Magic are nicely stripped down, and very well structured.

Breathe and Star of Bethlehem are musically brilliant.

Secret Crowds has the best hook/chorus I've heard in a looong time.

Tom has taken time in writing his melodies this time around. They don't sound as repetitive and whiny as the first album either.

I-Empire is 20 times better than We Don't Need to Whisper!

AVA wouldn't get anywhere near as much shit as they do if Tom never became so cocky and claimed his new band would change the face of rock and roll forever. Believe me, if Blink 182 broke up, and Tom started this band but said nothing more than "I hope you all like it", they would have gotten so much more respect. i think a reason why alot of people are sour towards them is because everyone liked blink...who didnt? and now that tom wanted to try something different...he gets bashed for trying to do so....u just gotta respect some people for trying different things. as for him claiming its gonna change music and all...hey! only time will tell right...if i had my own band...id hype the shit outta them as well...maybe not to the point about jesus n all...but yea id be kinda cocky...i think thats the attitude you gotta go into these things with!! thats jus my opinion!! haha...

Eh...

I was dissappointed with We Don't Need To Whisper. I thought it sucked. The only song off of I-Empire I've heard is "Everything's Magic" and to be quite honest, it wasn't half bad. Granted, it's not Blink-182 material, but it's definatly a step up from AVA's previous efforts.

What bugs me about this bad is not that all the songs sound similar, it's that Tom Delonge is such a fucking prick.

Exactly why I hate this band so much. Tom created such a hype and when I played the cd for the first time it was the last time. But it did lower my standards for +44, which turned out a lot better than AVA.
Tom needs to chill on being so cocky and thinking he's better than jesus.

that's what happened with me. I hated the first album when it first came out. I think I was just mad at Tom. But after awhile, it grew on me. And I think it's really great.
