I wrote this as a feshman in high school
now a senior i look back with grin, as knowing this was written about my first real crush....she was a senior...we were on teh track team together but obviously the difference in age and grade level was to much to overcome...I was devastated when she left for college...so i wrote this sad sappy heartbreak i still want to be friends kinda poem, it's dorky adn an immature writing level, but i was 14...
Every time I see you
My breathe is taken away
And every time you leave
You take a little piece of me
For what you don’t know
Is I’ve always loved you
And what I don’t tell you
Is that I still do
For you come to me with your rights
And you come to me with wrongs
You come to me when your puzzled
And when you need a hand to be strong
But each time you come
I fall deeper and deeper
For now the whole I dig
Is becoming steeper and steeper
And despite the troubles
And the problems that arise
I continue to dig
And continue to climb
It’s a never ending battle
That’s come about every day
But despite what I feel
I still want to be
Just a friend
Whose only a phone call away…
