but have they actually come out and said WHAT each element will stand for, musically?
Of the two released songs the fire song sounds kind of heavier (relatively) and the water song sounds kind of lighter... but what about earth and wind? I've heard earth is acoustic?
I'm trying to figure out if they actually have a sort of set style for each element or what not. Anyone know?

Fire - Paper Tiger-like Thrice
Water - Atlantic-like Thrice
Earth - Dustin Kensrue solo style Thrice
Air - I forget
Two fire songs, since when?

Fire is supposed to be heavy and contain plenty of guitar riffs. More like the stuff from TIOS.
Water, i think, is softer with a lot of rolling percussions and whatnot.
Earth, from what I've heard on the teaser videos, sounds like Dustin's solo acoustic work.
Air sounds like it will utilize a lot of synthesizers and soft, believe it or not, 'air-like' vocals.

Me too I didn't listen to much of their heavier stuff

Yeah, they basically said the elements stand for nothing...they just used them to inspire what the direction of the music would go. Pretty self explanatory for what each one will sound like except maybe Air, atleast for me.
Fire being the heavy stuff.
Water being the tremelo/reverby stuff..blips and beeps..They said Radiohead Kid A was a huge influence for this disc so that should give you some idea.
Earth being the more organic, acoustic stuff
As for Air, like I said, no idea. color me interested though.

That was my guess too, and I'm thinking air will be light-ish too but it is hard to see how it will be much different than water that way. Plus I doubt they would want to do light + acoustic without ANY heaviness...

Kind of wrong thread but Ben, what're your thoughts on The Honorary Title?

Never listened to them. Their name sounds like pop punk (I dunno if they are) but I always assumed and have thus never listened.
Haha my initial thought as well. Nothing like pop punk and stays far away from it. Give em' a listen.

their older material is my favourite but their new album, Scream & Light Up The Sky is in the running for my AOTY. Give em' a listen to and give some feedback.

Lame idea for a concept album.
Been done before. Doesn't make any significant point.

you would think that earth might be heavy, not really acoustic
