I heard a saying when I was in 7th grade that I still havent forgotten:

"New Jersey is the armpit of the world".

I dunno if its true, Ive never been there, I just thought that it was funny.

if u mean its crap, its partially true. some parts of new jersey are complete and total crap. but i live in northern new jersey and i am in the sticks. i am just surrounded by forests and everything and there are a lot of nice upper class communties and stuff like that. and southern new jersey is like farmsville and they have hick accents and the whole bit so yea new jersey is definately interesting to say the least, but it depends on where you are to say its the arm pit of the world. all people think about is the turnpike

not everyone in south jersey have hick accents...but i live closer to atlantic city so i guess thats why, that city influence...but yeah there are some hilbilies down here

NJ is the armpit of America...I've heard that before. I've also heard that Northern NJ is the largest suburb of NYC and South Jersey is the largest suburb of Philly. I work at a bridge to South Jersey, right before the start of the TPK actually. There are definitely some hicks over there. They don't have accents though! I find it highly amusing how EVERYONE in each small town knows EVERYTHING about each other. The girls I work with go insane with gossip and stupid drama.

im pretty sure the people out of there are the most pro-state people i have ever met. if your around a jersey kid and merely mention anything that has to do with the state (and that seems to include the yankees), they go crazy.
