I'd like to add though not techinally prison movies American History X and Natural Born Killers have some of the best prison scenes in film.

The Rock is a really good bland action movie.. it was a really big childhood favorite of mine.

Shawshank and American History X are probably the best i have seen.. but yeah The Rock holds a place near and dear to my heart.
