I went to the Drive Thru Invasion Tour on friday and it was a great show. Senses Fail came out and weren't very good. The crowd never got into it and it was pretty weak. You could barely make out any of the singing/screaming.
Then Early November came on. They were decent. After a few songs Ace hit himself in the head with his guitar and was on the ground. After about 10 minutes they finished their set with Kenny from the Starting Line and the lead singer from Senses Fail filling in for ace. It was a decent show.
Then Allister came on and tore the place up. They started with a guy coming on in the Blind Melon video bee suit. It was really funny. Then the Allister guys came out in button up shirts and ties which were aawesome. There played with alot of energy and the crowd was going nuts. It was an incredible show. After Allister Homegown was gonna be on. I wasn't expecting much because I have read bad reviews on their show on this site.
Boy were those reviews wrong. Homegrown was the best of the five bands. They had the most energy and the best overall show. I couold hear perfectly every lyric and guitar solo/riff. They were an amazing live band and by the end of their set I was drenched in sweat. Homegrown was probably the best live band I have seen and I've seen many concerts. No, they are not my favorite band, but alot of punk shows don't sound great. They combined intense energy with great playing which amazed me.
Then Starting Line came on. They were ok. Not much energy compared to Allister or Homegrown. Kinda dull but still fun. Overall, the Drive Thru Invasion Tour rocked. I don't get why so many people bashed Homegrown though. Their performance was hard not to like. Even my two friends who are not familiar with many Homegrown songs felt that they had the best show.
