What do you guys think of incest concerning two consensual adults of age? Or how about producing offspring through means of incest?

Personally, as soon as I hear the words I fill up with disgust. But as I probe deeper into why incest seems to be taboo you could almost make a case for it. Now I don't want to sound like I'm supporting it or advocating it by any means (quite frankly, it repulses me), but I just want to hear other people's take on it.

We all know siring children through incest will create tons of problems genetically like 'inbreeding depression' and crap, but then why do people with severe disabilities and diseases reproduce without scorning eyes? And secondly, we all know it's looked down upon in society. But there are plenty of us here that believe morality is subjective and often times irrelevant, outright; and that makes the entire argument null.

she was actually his fifth cousin, once removed. even this is still legal today. i dont believe if he refrained from incest he would have been any less of a great president. he cheated on eleanor all the time anyways.

But seriously nothing is wrong, nothing is right. Everything is relative etc.. If they aren't reproducing then really there is not an issue if that's what people want to do but you can't stop them reproducing and they definately shouldn't be allowed to reproduce. I don't know if I think it should be banned completely or not.

As far as producing offspring goes, besides the fact that it's your own blood, the genetic problems aren't enough of a reason not to do it?

i can understand why people would want to do it, but i would never do it (i don't have a sister anyway.) reproduction is wrong because it constricts the gene pool.

If they are consenting adults, I don't particularly care whether or not a brother and sister engage in sexual intercourse. As far as producing offspring, I would not be opposed to that either, since the portion of the populace that would be breeding is quite insignificant.

Again, if I was raised in a manner that stated familial sex was fine, I would likely accept it as normal. What others feel is an entirely different story, and an argument from that view would rely upon fallacious arguments.
