Ok, today I just found out that one of my good friends has a crush on me. This is fucking sick because the guy is like one of the girls. I mean, you would NEVER date him, you just hang out. And what really pisses me off is that I just went to this carnival thing on Thursday. Now I'm not sure if he intended that to be a date or what but now everyone thinks we go out, and I really don't like him more than a friend. I mean, why is he gonna put himself through disapointment when he knows that I don't like him like a boyfriend and I already like this guy. I even asked my friend for advice about dating this dude! I'm just really disapointed because it feels like I can't be friends with him anymore. I don't want people to get the wrong impression and the guy I like to find out that I'm supposedly dating my friend. I don't think I can be real anymore. Which is gonna be hard since I sit behind him during 6th period which is the longest period of school and it's also the block I have lunch in. Ugh, this is just a mess. And what really freaks me out and pisses me off is that he had a "dream" about me... how can you be friends with someone who has "dreams" about you. And I don't mean dreams, I mean DREAMS... I'm so confused at what to do. I don't want to hurt this guy's feelings but he needs to know how I feel. Any suggestions??

ok, maybe i can lend some perspective from the guy's POV. I've been in that situation before, most recently last november. There was this girl i was friends with and I went out with her once and thought it a date, and she never told me that she didn't have feelings for me. In fact, i didn;t learn out til months later when a friend of mine told me. I was crushed inside, it hurt bad. But more from the fact that she was the one who didn;t tell me. She was so scared to lose my friendship that she essentially lied to me and in the end that ruined the great friendship we already had.

SO I say tell him and tell him now. But in all fariness to the guy, do NOT just ignore him afterwards. Yes he may say he dreamt about you, and it may seem freaky, but those feelings will hopefully pass after you deflate him. Do it lightly, then say let's act like this was a misunderstanding and pretend it didn't happen, or something to that effect, in your own heartfelt words. Let him understand how you feel and make it clear he's just a friend and always will be. It may seem awkward for a few weeks, but in the end it should work out fine. trust me, i speak from guy friend central here lol.
