I had a huge argument at school today with a boy in my class. He completly slagged of punk and emo and said that those kinds of bands have no talent!He is so narrow minded and it pisses me off, he's all, "like what you want as long as it's death metal". I just told him to shut the fuck up, i didn't want to talk to him. Anyone here know anyone like that?:mad:

How could he possibly say that???? Punk music is the most complicated music to play in the world!!!! Damn him for sharing his opinion with you...damn him!!!

I know! thats what I thought, he walks around school saying "I am such a good guitarist, all bow down to me" well, not those exact words but you know what I mean. The funny thing is I was actually paying him a compliment and he was too arrogant to notice, wanker!

btw just so you know punk music is unbelievably easy to play. it sounds good, but most of it isnt complicated in the least.

I have MANY people like that. I find that the lyrics are truly the best part of punk music, the most touching things I've ever heard.
Some things are really hard to play though, look at Thrice. Holy shit. Thursday, suprisingly, isn't that hard. I don't know why it would be.

Everyone at my school is either a rapper or a metal-head so I wouldn't know...then you got the cool skaters who think they're punk because they listen to Simple Plan.

yeah my big brother is totally in to like hip-hop type stuff and he always makes fun of the music i like. Like making fun of their voices and lyrics and their names and stuff. it makes me mad. but seriously what are you gunna do cuz my big brother could probably beat me up.

I live in a town where 95% of the people listen to classic rock, "new rock (Bands like limp bizkit and metallica)", and COUNTRY. I totally know how you feel. I used to get beat up every day in high school because of my taste in music. Back then I was kind of shy so I wouldn't do anything about it, but now I would just laugh in their faces. Punk is the most original type of music I know, and the bands are great. At least most of them treat their fans with the respect that they deserve, unlike most of the "death metal" bands. My friend loves metal and hard rock, and even she admits that the bands don't care about the fans as much as punk and emo bands do. While I respect everyone's taste in music, I don't like it when someone doesn't respect mine. It's all about respect.

ditto. i was being polite to a friend of mine when he was talking about the music he likes but i dont like too much. but when i talk about the music i like he goes "Eww i hate that crap." it angers me
