Underoath/Every Time I Die/Poison The Well/Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster
Sunday October 21, 2007
House Of Blues Cleveland
Cleveland, OH
Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster was first. They put on a pretty good show. Their sound is pretty on par with the albums and their energy is through the roof, but it wasn't enough to completely impress me.
Poison The Well was next. They destroyed it, for part of the set. They sounded almost spot-on with their stuff (that I know anyways). They got a better crowd response that I expected. About four and half song in to the set I was pretty bored and I don't know why, maybe because I like PTW but don't ever get that to "in to" them?
Every Time I Die was direct support and easily the best show of the night. Keith sounds awesome live, I think his range is great from the older stuff to the newer stuff. And the band is also very energetic. Andy (the guitarist) [I think that's his name?] is always fun to watch up there too. The crowd was really really in to them and it was just a great show. I just wish they would've played a little less from the new album. But I can't complain.
No Son Of Mine
The New Black
Cities And Years
Floater
Gutarred And Feathered
Hang 'Em High
Ebolarama
Bored Stiff

Kill The Music
Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of Battery
Underoath was the headliner. And the band everyone was there to see. They had some pretty neat and interesting videos on the back-drop screen and their light show was pretty sick. As always, the band was all over the place and their energy was completely amazing. And it really hides the fact of how sloppy they can get at times during the show. Spencer sounded good and Aaron (like usual) sounded like crap, but I can't fault him for that with drumming and trying to sing at the same time.
Salmarnir
Returning Empty Handed
In Regards To Myself
It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door
You're Ever So Inviting
To Whom It May Concern
A Moment Suspended In Time
Young And Aspiring
There Could Be Nothing After This
Writing On The Walls
Everyone Looks So Good From Here
Casting A Thin Shadow

Moving For The Sake Of Motion
A Boy Brushed Red, Living In Black And White
Overall the show was a really good time, even if I was pre-occupied during Underoath and only saw about 65% of it (but could hear it all) because of game 7 of the American League Championship baseball game. The show was very close to a 1,400 person sell out and the crowd was very in to it for most of the show. I'm defiantly glad I went and was stoked for this show for a while.
(I did not take the setlists but I know they were exactly the same as posted in the previous thread)

good show. i'm pretty sure that both sets were a song shorter than the original setlists a month or so ago, probably because of poison the well? anyways, every time i die didn't play rendez-voodoo. ETID was awesome, I agree that they played the best set of the night, but I thought all the bands played well. Like you said, the crowd was more in to PTW than I expected. I thought it was pretty funny when Keith was like "how'd everybody like maylene?...poison the well?...and the main reason we're here...the buffalo bills defeating the baltimore ravens!!!" as far as underoath goes, i'd like to see them mix up the setlist between albums a little bit more. i mean i understand playing a lot of new songs, but to be like, hey we're gonna play an old one for you guys and then play a song off of TOCS, that's kinda weak. i'd be interested to see ETID's set from the buffalo show this tuesday.

Thanks! I think it'll be very close to being sold out come day of the show. I called the box office for some friends yesterday and she said "We're not sold out but expect a big walk up, if you get here by show time you should be fine." I'd bet that is the case for the Philly show as well. And if it isn't, I'm sure they'll fill it up giving out an ass load of comp tickets.
Seriously though, how many DVDs does Underoath need? They've already got three (There Only Chasing Safety deluxe, Define The Great Line deluxe, and 777) but I guess the kids will buy them.

Underoath's set was not a song shorter, they played the same set as previously posted. And I agree that was pretty funny when Keith said that and was like "Oh you guys have a baseball game or something going on? Yeah, good luck with that." Do you really think their setlist at the Buffalo show will change? It's not an off-date is it?

no it's not an off-date. i dunno...i wouldn't be surprised if they play the same set as they played in cleveland, but i could see them playing "buffalo gals" or maybe a song off of last night in town for their hometown crowd. yeah you're right about the UO set, for some reason it just didn't seem to me like they played all of define the great line.

Actually, I could see ETID doing that now that you said that. They love their home town and rightfully so. Have you ever seen the Shit Happens DVD and they give out their amps and other stuff after their Christmas show? That is an awesome thing to do. I, like you also wish Underoath didn't play the whole DTGL CD, not that I don't like it I just think more variety would be better from a band like them.

honestly, ive still never seen 777. is it worth picking up ? and im really only stoked on the new DVD cause the performance shots will be filmed in my city haha otherwise, i probably wouldnt care. your right, i really dont think they need another one though. however, i wouldnt mind a new album sometime soon. i remember in some underoath thread a while pack, someone said that spencer mentioned on stage that they'll have a record out next year, as early as the winter ( if i rememvber correctly )

I'd be pumped to be at a show that was taped! I was at the Bloodhound Gang show in Philly that was on Viva La Bam from 3 years ago.
Anyways, I watched it once, the day I bought it. And I've watched the live show (which is 7 songs) twice. It's really not worth owning. I don't think I've ever watched my Define The Great Line DVD and I've never seen the There Only Chasing Safety DVD. I can't believe this will be there 4th DVD in less than 2 years. I don't know what else they can cover. Solid State/Tooth & Nail bands really do put out shitty DVDs. Both of The Chariot DVDs pretty much blew, the Norma Jean O' God deluxe wasn't anything good. And I never watched the Anberlin Cities DVD and have got about half-way through the Emery The Question deluxe and I Am Only A Man (which is cool because it has two full sets).
I think the album will be out next Summer they said at Warped Tour. And I guess he also said it last night.

PTW have opened for Underoath on at least two tours, this being the second. Sorry, I'm not a huge PTW fan so I can't help you with a set list.

Isn't this at least, like the fourth time they've toured together? No setlist here either. Sorry.

can't really help you with this, but i can tell you that they played 9 or 10 songs including letter thing, nagaina, zombies are good for your health, and nerdy. i thought their set was pretty good. i can see both sides of the fence for PTW headlining over underoath. obviously they've been around longer and they've paved the way for a lot of the bands that are around now. but underoath is more popular and they're going to sell more tickets which is what it almost always comes down to.
