Are there any bands that use more than one bassist? Like a lead and rhythm bass? If that's even possible...

jacob and i - 2 bassists and a drummer
mogwai - had 2 bassists for a bunch of songs when i saw them live.

edit: both happen to be instrumental bands.

My old band did. Not very common.

I'd be interested in hearing a band that uses one short scale bass and one long scale bass. I've owned both, and they definitely sound different. I've got the short scale SG in my avatar there, and it sounds more like a 4 string guitar than a bass to me (especially the G-string - it sings out). I could almost play it alongside a six string instead of alongside drums as a rhythm instrument.

Death Cab does in one song. I don't remember which, though.
