View Full Version : Knifeparty WTF???

I haven't been on the boards that much lately so please forgive me if this has already been brought up. I recently went to knifeparty.com (http://www.knifeparty.com ) and was totally shocked to see a really bad version of absolutepunk.net. Everything from the feature band to the fading advertisements was totally ripped.
I hope that this is a joke of some type because if it isn't, it's just sad. By the way I am a website developer so don't post stupid shit like "you probably couldn't do a better job yourself" because believe me I could.

haha, its for the people that got fed up of AP...or the people that were "too cool" for it. i sometimes visit KP to see whats up, cuz many people i thought were cool went there. but other then that....i still somewhat prefer it here.
Most music sites look more or less the same.

so true...
Ap's the one who always goes around putting the same featured band as all the other sites, most recently rockingthescene.com, they've ripped rts more. And KP works the site and lets anyone post articles and stuff. You don't have to be in Tates inner circle. And you don't get free crap for posting news. You do it because you want to. And if the site is just like AP, well, the site was designed by a brilliant 14 year old. Which doesn't say much for Jason's web skills, does it? That's all I have to say.

Let's not get into an argument over KP and AP. It's all been said, post where you want.

Dude, what does age have anything to do with web design? Is there an age requirement for meeting a standard? Who cares anyway. KP has the articles going for them but they sort of suck and there is a greater level of bias in those articles at KP than at AP. Tate has reasons for choosing who he chooses, I'm supposing. So they're probably people who have a little more skill at writing articles. For now, let's keep the KP/AP shit down.

I personally think KP's design is more appealing than the AP home page...
But there are numerous other differences, like KP isn't a blithering fanzine to Yellowcard and numerous other crappy pop punk bands.
But we all have our own tastes in music; tate can put whatever the hell he wants on his shitty site geared for the MTV generation.
So wait, having a featured band is ripping off AP?
You really got us good.
It is interesting you think KP ripped off AP when we all know where AP got there design from. But it doesn't stop there we also know where the "heart" came from. Then again as I look at KP and I look at AP I do not see anything very similar. OK so there is a featured band but I think that is about the only argument you can make. But if you have a better one I'd like to hear it.

This coming from a guy who spent 4 years or so posting on Jason's message boards.
Now, lets settle it this way. Nobody at AP talks about KP, and nobody at KP talks about AP for now on. We all prefer one of the sites, and when two people who prefer different sites meet, an argument begins. They're just websites. Who gives a fuck.

yeah i agree...now we can talk about killjoy :D
and brandon is 16?? i thought he was older:confused:
Yes Brandon, I have been posting on this forum for a hell of a long time. I was also a suicidal maniac who threatened to kill a friend at the same time i found ap, so I guess we all make mistakes. That free shit from posting news was not directed at you. Although it would apply to you, wouldn't it?
And I don't really see how KP and Ap look alike. KP doesn't have a ton of ad's and it's a different color, set up differently......

You my friend, never cease to amaze me at how incredibly pathetic and stupid you really are. Just once and for all, shut the fuck up. We are all getting fed up with all your tireless and incessant bullshit about everything that you have no clue about. Just live with the fact that a 16 year old (brandon), does in fact know about a million more things then you about music.
I know a 14 year old (im 19), and i just met him a few days ago in town. And this kid knew more about music then pretty much anyone ive ever met in my entire life. So if you classify musical knowledge by age...then you really should be the one hanging out with the "15 year old teeny boppers" as you put it so nicely.
And dont forget , is your favorite band not Blink 182? did they not release theyre best album on DTR? And your icon is mxpx...even they sound more generic then half the bands still on the DTR roster. So please, for the love of god and everyone else here. Shut up.

no, the label took control of the sales for better distribution. On interpunk it even says cheshire is on MCA, but it was on grilled cheese or something like that. MCA took their first albums under their own wing to be able to distribute to more stores.
