Great band. New album was excellent.
They recently broke up which was a shame. Anyone who doesn't know them should go listen.
Fans?

I saw them live with Bayside.
I liked the guys voice.
I wish I had seen them live. When was it?

I wish I had seen them live. When was it?
Last December at School of Rock.
Good show.
I was wondering if you saw them before or after they lost their lead singer. He left a couple months before they broke up.
I believe they're still technically together. They're going to play some more shows then close it down. But still announced the break up.

Nah. I saw them when Asa was the lead singer. It was back wayyy before the new CD.

I want to catch one of these shows. Asa voice drew me into the band and i'm upset i've missed several opportunities to see them back when they were together.
Has anyone seen them live recently? I haven't heard much about how the fill-in sounds.

Has anyone seen them live recently? I haven't heard much about how the fill-in sounds.Well, we're fortunate. They said definently more shows in Illinois. Which is great. Asa's replacement is a friend of the band's. That's all I know.

Ah ok, but they didn't play any new songs when I saw them so I figured it was a good distance away.

Huh?
Oh, I was just asking who they sound like so I could see if I like them or should listen to them!
I heard they're filling in for the lost members of The Dear Hunter because the 3 dudes quit; anyone know if it's true?
I think that may be true. At least one of the guys has a s-deiproject (now full time), though.
Hmm. Who they sound like.... Vocal stylings are similar to Midtown Gabe.

bump. they have been all I've been listening to for the past few weeks. if any of you are looking for a good impulse buy, then buy Cinematographic. Its really good pop-rock with spacey, jazzy, and powerpop elements. slowly creeping into my top 5

for anyone who didn't go to the last show... http://youtube.com/user/TJVLastShow. Asa was trashed so he's got some funny banter in there

TJV. One of the better bands on Victory at that time.

ah man I miss this band so much. probably the best non-metal Victory band from the past few years. wish they'd get back together; they ended too abruptly

This is my favorite band of all time. I've seen them twice, they're very talented and underrated, just listen to the guitar and effects on wide eyed. Really down to earth people

Yeah, I wish they would've at least played a couple good bye dates, I saw them in Cleveland with their different singer, it was weird. I was sooo close to driving 5 hours to see them at their last show, but I had exams. At one point the keyboard player and I talked on the phone a couple times for a paper I had to write and how what happens to a band personally can change them. He mentioned how their shit got stolen and the guitar player's girlfriend got murdered, which put a toll on them. Also, how Asa's drinking effected them. As seen in their last show, he was totally wasted and couldn't even sing.
On another note, not a lot of people know about The great compromise it's a great album and worth a listen. Just looking at wide eyed is so nostalgic for me, probably my most over played album of all time. I've probably listened to it over 200 times. truely my favorite band

they had some of the shittiest possible luck. the murder, shitty label, Asa bailing, the fact that they got robbed numerous times (3 times in a month). it's all fucked.
it's too bad. they really didn't fit in with the Victory roster. they were doing something not exactly original, but they were refreshing in this scene. apparently, they had some big fall tour that woulda helped them in the works before Asa left. such a shame. not to mention he sounded like shit at the last show. alas...

well, it sounds nothing like Wide Eyed. its more of a cohesive album rather than some awesome songs. it sounds like Bayside/Punchline with some jazzy, and even some Weezer-ish influences. it's really good though. you should find a link or somethin on google. if you can't, I can up it.

I met these guys once - incredibly nice. They were very sincere when I told them I loved Wide Eyed and even hugged me. I then went into their van and took turns spooning with each member.
It got weird.

Their lead singer smelled. He was kind of hippy-ish.
Hippies can't commit, that's why he quit the band. It's also why the Beatles ended so soon and why John Lennon died. Damn hippies.
