i remember seeing one of those "magicians tricks" or whatever shows...in the ice block he would have some double come up and pose for him so he took breaks and went down into this heated chamber with a bed and tv and shit

he freaking amazes me... i don't like it when he does things like standing around and "pushing limits" but his magic tricks are the best around. Download some of his videos they're insane! And i doubt you saw a special on tricks with the ice block seeing as how he just did the trick.

No, the ice block thing was the older one. The newer one is hanging over a London bridge in a see-thru box for......I think it was 30 days. I don't know the details how it comes to food though.

I think that the actual magic tricks that he does are cool, but I don't agree with this simply because many people use hunger strike as a serious form of protest and he is degrading it for the sake of entertainment.

I read in the newspaper today, because they had this huge article on the stunt, that he's getting 8 million dollars from skyy tv, or whatever its called. because they are broadcasting him in the box 24 hours a day. he pees out of a tube in the box. thats greatttt. and all the people below the box are throwing stuff at it, and have hit golf balls at the box.

yeah, I live in England, and the people over here are giving him some proper grief.

The thing about English people is that they love to see people fail much much more than they love to see people suceed, and we're built on an entire culture of ripping the piss out of one another.
People have been chucking stuff at him all the time, and shouting at him, women have been flashing their tits at him, and one person stood underneath the boc and starting cooking barbeque lol. Plus add to that that the place he's doing it is located just down the road from all the pubs, and if you know anything about Britain you'll know what our British pissheads are like!

Apparently the PR people have been paying off the local vagrants with booze to stop them coming and hassling him in the night

DAVID Blaine may be forced to quit his plastic box above the Thames - because his public relations firm fears his image is taking a battering.

The American illusionist is not even halfway through his 44-day starvation stunt, but Manhattan-based PMK is reported to be dismayed at the reaction of the British public.

Crowds have turned up to hurl abuse, eggs and other missiles since day one of the spectacle near Tower Bridge. Women have flashed their boobs at him, and one man allegedly tried to cut off Blaine's water supply.

One fan was led away covered in blood after scuffling with security guards protecting the 30-year-old star from the crowds.

Bosses at PMK, whose clients include Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow, are "appalled" by the hostile reaction to Blaine's stunt by British crowds.

"David is a huge star, a brand name in America on which an entire campaign was based and, suddenly across the Atlantic, all the hard work and planning was being blown away," one of the firm's management told London's Evening Standard.

"It left us dumbfounded."

A PMK associate admitted: "It is that bad. It has got to the stage of 'Do we just get him the hell out of there?' Whatever the repercussions, the worst-case scenario is being taken very seriously indeed."

The Blaine team is particularly concerned about the lack of security at the site in central London.

"The security firm should be sacked," one team member is quoted as saying.

"I mean what is this? A public hanging? You can't have pictures of bloodied spectators being led away appearing around the world.

"What does that do for David's image?"

Magic man David Blaine has unveiled his next stunt - plunging hundreds of feet from a helicopter into a river.


Having recovered from his 44 days in a box near Tower Bridge, the illusionist is keen to get back to work.

He told US chat show host Larry King the river plunge would be done without parachutes.

He said: "The next thing I am going to do is a crazy one, it's called a 'dive of death'.

"If you go in a little bit off if your body is not perfectly straight - you do not pierce the water right, you rip your ligaments off, you're paralysed, anything can go wrong."

Blaine has pencilled in his next birthday, April 4, as the date for the attempt.

He said he nearly quit his box in London when his water supply was damaged by a spectator.

And he understood why people had taunted him, because "it's just a guy sitting in a box".

But despite the risk to his life, he vowed: "I'm going to keep doing these things as long as I can.

"That's what I feel my reason is."
