You know it! It isn't that much of a homer pick. If the Ravens beat Pitt on MNF they will both be 5-3

xRevengeISeekx
10/31/07, 12:39 AM
If the Bills win their next game against Cincy, they'll be right in the thick of things. Had it not been for two devastating last second loses against Denver and Dallas, Buffalo would be standing at 5-2. Regardless of what could have/should have been, their defense is probably the most underrated in the league; they have been on a mission since that MNF game (like 12 turnovers).

Baltimore's margins of victory thus far: 7 points, 3 points, 2 points, and 19 points. Losses to Cleveland, Buffalo, and Cincinnati.
Pittsburgh's margins of victory thus far: 27 points, 23 points, 21 points, and 21 points. Losses to Arizona and Denver.

Please explain to me how that's not a big time homer pick. I understand that Baltimore beat Arizona and Pittsburgh lost to Arizona, but Baltimore lost to Cincinnati and Cleveland, two teams that Pittsburgh beat handedly.

I still think it's a homer pick, but to be fair Baltimore has had to deal with a lot of injuries at key positions (Todd Heap, McNair, etc) and they've definitely underperformed, I think they will improve from what they've done.

Wow, and I thought sacks were an incredibly overrated defensive statistic and a terrible measure of a defensive player's success! Thank you for showing me the light!

Never mind that he has forced 3 fumbles and recovered 2 more (and scored a defensive TD) and has been one of the best at disrupting the passer and causing hurried passes all year. You're right, sacks are everything.

According to the Giants, he's not even the Defensive MVP of their own team, Justin Tuck is.

Jared Allen does the same things minus 1 forced fumble and he plays along side no one. He's also done it in 5 games compared to the 8 from Osi.

It has nothing to do with a bias. And okay, I know nothing about football Scott. You got me.

You've seen 4-5 games, I get every single giants game on tv. He feeds of Strahan and how the O-line shifts their blocking toward Strahan. He's also feeding off an entirely different defensive scheme...A scheme that came from Jim Johnson's style of defense.

He's been disruptive. Did I say he was bad? No. I just think when facing a decent to good o-line, he doesn't show up as much. I used consistency as an argument. When Strahan is not healthy, Osi is nowhere close to as disruptive.

This is why I think Jared Allen is the mvp through the mid-season.

While I don't expect the Bills to win the Super Bowl this year, they do have a fairly decent wild card shot. They're gonna have to fight a little, but they are not too far back.

As for the whole "somebody is gonna fuck up Tom Brady" scenario, I think that is very realistic. Especially with the Colts. Their defensive coordinator is notorious for getting cheap hits in. If they don't do it, somebody will.

Eventually when people realize they can't win, and the Pats are still scoring when they're up 30 points, somebody is gonna get pissed and do something dirty. I'm totally ok with that.

what about laron landry for defensive roty? that man has been great for the skins d so far. and now with rodgers out for the rest of the year it is safe to say he will pick up an even more important role. right now he has 50 tackles and is on pace to have more than 110 as a safety. granted his lack of ints right now could make it relatively far fetched but i think by the end of the year he will be getting serious buzz.

Did anyone give a shit when Wilfork took out JPs knee? No. Imagine if that happened to Brady. Everyone would go apeshit.

But he's asking for it.

GETCHA POPCORN READY.

I don't know about the Bills making the Wildcard this year. They're going to get some heavy competition from the Jaguars, Titans, Chiefs, Ravens, and, dare I say it, the Browns...

As for the Wilfork hit, I can't believe how little attention that got. That was such an intentional late hit, it was disgusting. He just got a fine or something for that, right? That aside, I don't want to see anyone put a late hit on Brady. I think it'd piss off Pats fans even more if they lost a clean game. I mean, ESPN has to air a discussion every 10 seconds about how Brady is "soooo competitive and hard working," so I'd love to see him lose and throw a hissy fit.

So how obvious is it that I'm just a bitter Jets fan?

so is it double elimination playoffs this year?
Gotta love typos

I should have made my original post more clear. I do consider myself a homer but picking Baltimore to beat Pitt is definitly not a big time homer pick. It's not unrealistic to think that the Ravens will make the playoffs. They have had some injuries to their stars and have underacheived so far this season but they definitly have enough time and talent to turn things around. If anything I am being a homer thinking they can make the playoffs because they have a really difficult schedule (San Diego, NE, and Indy 3 weeks in a row) and they have already dug themselves into a small hole. Baltimore has always played Pitt competitively (Pitts only 2 losses in the second half of last season were to Baltimore) and I doubt that that would change if the two met in the playoffs

Saints over Packers, are you drunk?

He may be drunk, but atleast he's not carrying a mad at the world because Tom Brady is having an amazing year attitude. Sure, I think most of us would like to see him get thrown around a little, or at least think twice about a QB sneak on fourth an 1 when up by 40 something late in the fourth, but viciously writing GET YOUR POPCORN READY in all caps makes us all question your sanity.

As for the Saints over Packers, I really don't see the flaw in that. The Packers may not even win their division with the Lions creeping every week and the Saints are in a division the Browns would be winning. I really don't even see the Packers getting a first round bye, it's more likely they will host a wild card game.

Did you SEE the way the Steelers played last season? All of the injury problems Roethlisberger had? This is a totally different game.

Lol wow, I can't believe people are taking the "Getcha popcorn ready" comment seriously. And the rest of my post, for that.

Sarcasm is truly dead in this world.

I don't think Cleveland will actually make the playoffs but they will be in the mix at the end. They will probably end up going either 9-7 or 7-9.

Packers will go at least 11-5, maybe 12-4.

im just hoping the jaguars are smart enough to run the ball while garrard's out and pull off low-scoring defensive wins. cause if we do we definitely have at least 11-5.

You know it! It isn't that much of a homer pick. If the Ravens beat Pitt on MNF they will both be 5-3

you might wanna reconsider that after last nights game...baltimore looked sooo awful, and the steelers looked pretty great

I would be very happy with this result, I never expected the browns to be anywhere near as successful as they have been (7-9 was my thought). I knew they would be better than the "experts" predicted, but not this good.

I'll wait until I see how they look against the steelers before I start calling for the super bowl
