For me it was "really that scary".
But see it anyway. I'm just an overgrown baby.

I love horror movies, theyre my favorite kind of movies, and good goddamn this movie scared the crap out of me. It makes you jump, and its so violent, but not in an overdone way, more in a realistic way. Its disturbing as hell. Good luck sleeping after seeing this.

I'm not a fan of scary movies either. I just saw House of 1000 Corpses and I thought it was stupid. The Exorcist was scary. This Ring was pretty scary. Ive seen the old one so I have doubts about the new TCM.

I went and saw it with my girlfriend. I thought it was awesome but my girlfriend got scared and we left right after the part where the girl kills that guy who was stuck on the hook! So could anyone tell me how the rest of the movie was? Thanks!

seriously i'm a horror movie buff just cuz like i love to be scared. every time a scary movie comes out i have to see it, unless it looks like it's gonna suck and i usually have keen sense of sucky horror movies. i.e. i have never seen wrong turn or cabin fever cuz they look like awful rip-offs of older horror movies that were really good. and from most i heard those movies did suck. what i'm trying to say really is that i've seen all the best horror/thriller movies and i've never really been scared. seriously. well when i was younger i used to be scared of chucky from child's play but now i just laugh at him (i was like 8 so yea). when i saw the movie scream i was 11. it had me a little shaken cuz it's something that could actually happen, but now that i'm older i feel foolish for being afraid of that movie. it could be real but not many are fucked up in such a unique way as they were in scream. now texas chainsaw massacre. personally i think the 1st one was done poorly and could use a lot of work and was poor even for the standards of movies back then. therefore it didn't scare me or really leave me with a creepy feeling. now the remake. i think there were some things that could be left out for sure, for example the little outcast boy of the family that helps out the kids, that was dumb. the diamond ring part (see the movie, youll know) i think that was kind of ironic because you wouldn't expect it, but was also pointless and didn't contribute to the plot in any way. now there were some things added that made the movie better. the hitchhiker for starts, instead of being a cannibal it was a extremely disturbed survivor from the attacks. the sheriff being in it was brilliant. ermey is a genius i've admired him since his role as the drill sergeant in full metal jacket and he really stole the show in this one though he didn't play a large role. well anyways, my point is that this movie terrified me. horror movie purists try to always say movies like the ring are truly scary and movies like this are just excuses for gore-fests. wrong-o. this movie, even given its title and the nature of the film, was done in a very classy manner. the camerawork makes it truly dark and disturbing. the cinematics and images are mindblowing, they focus on the things that make the movie downright creepy. the camerawork reminded me a lot of blackhawk down. they really know how to make it work in this movie. a lot of people are bashing it because it is a "gore-fest" and the original wasn't. it's gory because its suposed to be, it's about a dude who kills people with chainsaws or whatever weapons he has and cuts off their skin and wears it. the original was probably not as gory because trying to make a gory movie back then would have ended up looking like crap. leatherface truly disturbed me in this, which he failed to do in the original. in the original he just appeared to be a senseless maniac who killed people with a chainsaw. they showed his other side in the remake. he was a leper and was tormented for it and he killed people and wore their skin to cover his own. also he was much more twisted in this. i don't wanna spoil any of it so you'll have to see the the movie cuz he does othr stuff that makes him very disturbing.
the ring made me laugh, it was stupid.
i'm gonna bother seeing cabin fever or wrong turn. maybe cabin fever.
28 days later looks good i'm gonna rent it but i doubt i'll be scared, zombies don't scare me.
but once you see this movie and realize that something like this could happen cuz some people are pretty messed up(it didn't really happen, wise up people), i'm confident that you'll be pretty scared.
ok this was a really long entry but seriously this movie terrified me in a way that no other movie has. full metal jacket can leave you shaken but this will leave u terrified.

28 Days Later rocked my socks off. There's this really sick scene.. and.. yeah. It's definitely not as scary as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but it's worth renting.

TCM is awesome, as Ive said before, or maybe that was on Killjoy (gotta love that killjoy!!)... either way, its still worth the 7 bucks without a doubt. I also liked Wrong Turn, I thought it was fun, not scary, but entertaining. Cabin Fever on the other hand... that had some real disturbing moments. Lets just say, after that movie, Ill never finger a girl and think about it the same way again. If youve seen the flick, you know what Im talking about. If you dont know what Im talking about, trust me, you dont want to know.

omg yuck! i heard something like someone bathing scrubs themselves and their skin peels off. that's like senseless gore, at least TCM presented its gore in a classier and more artsy (if that's possible) way.

Basically, this guy is giving this girl the finger under the covers, and he takes his hand out, and it is COVERED with blood. The girl had the blood disease and shes bleeding our of her naughty part. Its not pretty at all.

Wow. Cabin Fever was so unbelievably disgusting and bad. Like I wanted to throw up half the time watching it, definitely DO NOT SEE....the only highlight was (stop reading now if you're sensitive to racial slurs) the part when the guy in the store says "that gun's for the ******s"....and then what happens at the end of the movie. Absolutely hilarious. Plus there was this black guy sitting in front of me right before the store owner said that first line and he yelled "THE FUCK?!!?" really loudly, which also was funny. Plus I grabbed my friend because I became uncomfortable at that point. But anyway....I saw TCM tonight and it was really creepy....some parts were kinda cheesy though and had me saying "oh, what the hell" to myself if you know what i mean. anyway, its still probably worth seeing.

Uh...what the fuck are you talking about? That is not at all what happened. She had a gun lodged in her "naughty part," and that's what was causing the bleeding. She then pulls the gun out of her "naughty part" and shoots herself in the head.
For anybody thinking of seeing this movie - don't. I went last night with a bunch of friends because we were sick of frat parties. Not only is the movie intensely scary at parts, it's extremely gory and disgusting. TERRIBLE movie to see a girl with.

Most definitely agree with Duin here. The chainsaw effect is way overdone. Seeing the weater leather-faced guy popping up looking like a zombie lineman revving the chainsaw every four minutes kind of ruins the effect. *SPOILERS AHEAD* I'd also have to say that when the guy gets his arm cut off with a meat cleaver and then somehow magically transports himself into the middle of the road later on in the movie, activates his chainsaw with only one arm and a nasty cut to his thigh, and slices the car - that was bullshit.
anyway, its still probably worth seeing.
Disagree, unless you're into disgusting gore, terror, and feeling extremely uncomfortable. I had to cope with seeing this movie by staying up until 4:30 in the morning playing N64 games with friends.
