Mother would you hold me- just say i'm truly loved,
I know i'm not the only unprotected cub.
sometimes life is lonely- like on holidays.
twenty four hours of feeling out of place,
hidden memories of father with his mace.
a different family every year
masking winter's bitter taste,
while the mixer has effect,
this glass is forever laced.
No one ever suspected that I was drunk
I hid it like a Christmas present,
lock and keyed inside a trunk.
I stumble through life with blurred vision,
slipping under the radar with wavering precision
a decision i didn't know I made,
I'd trade two decades for a clean slate.
maybe two decades can erase hate.
I know i'm not the only unprotected cub.
sometimes life is lonely- like on holidays.
twenty four hours of feeling out of place,
hidden memories of father with his mace.
a different family every year
masking winter's bitter taste,
while the mixer has effect,
this glass is forever laced.
No one ever suspected that I was drunk
I hid it like a Christmas present,
lock and keyed inside a trunk.
I stumble through life with blurred vision,
slipping under the radar with wavering precision
a decision i didn't know I made,
I'd trade two decades for a clean slate.
maybe two decades can erase hate.
