I downloaded the demo on xbox live and couldn't even play all the way through it. I wasn't very impressed.

well i bought the game this weekend and i fell in love with it. but maybe its just the demo. just go buy it and if you dont like it take it back and get a refund

It's just the same thing that has been done in other games like Max Payne and Fear. I'll pass and stick to playing The Orange Box.

The Orange Box is the second best shooter released this year behind Bioshock. I suggest you trade in timeshit and purchase both those games.
