View Full Version : Bands You Have Never Heard Of

seconds

So, I have noticed that whenever people look at my iPod they always stumble upon a number of bands that they had no clue existed. Bands like Andrew Jackson Jihad, Circulatory System, Dodo Bird, and Grizzly Bear.

Basically, I think it would be interesting to see you guys throw out a few bands you have heard of but never listened to, and someone reply with some sort of review of the band.

Or you can post about a few "underground" bands people should check out.

Whatever, just stick with the theme "Bands You Have Never Heard Of."

Yeah, you got me. Never heard of any of those.

But for me, probable half the bands that AP obsess over, such as Say Anything. Let the flying tomatoes begin.

I've had people go through my iPod and know only about 20% of the people/bands on it.

Most people I know aren't too familiar with Lydia, Lorene Drive or Days Away...although the latter can be considered a staple for fans of this site for sure.

The ones that no one has recognized that I believe deserve the most recognition are He Is Legend and The High Speed Scene.

Well they're certainly not heavy by any means. Quite the departure from He Is Legend. It's just simple, juvenile, up-tempo rock and it really strikes a chord with me for some reason. I just don't want you to expect something heavy like HIL and be horribly disappointed.

One of the most important indie rock bands ever.

Cassino and maybe Eisley. Though I'm not completely sure with Eisley. That might be switched out by Broken Social Scene.

Then the point that you just brought up earlier about "any decent circa or saosin fan knows who they are" makes no sense to what you just said. How can you make that judgement if you don't know any?

It's actually just one British dude. And he's quite the guitar player and songwriter. I HATE that name though. I mean, c'mon, his name is Sam Duckworth. Just have that be your name. Not that abomination of a band name.

Yeah. Some of the things those guys come up with are ridiculous. You should read into how they write their songs and stuff. Really brilliant musicians. I recommend that you go through the whole album (whichever one you have).

King's X is most definitely the most underrated band ever. Look 'em up on Google. They are absolutely incredible. They headlined woodstock '94, opened for AC/DC, Living Colour, and Dream Theatre. Yet nobody knows who they are. It's a shame, really.
