What horrible fucking news to wake up to...punknews.org has an unconfirmed report that Elliott Smith died from self-inflicted wounds. Seriously, this is gonna make the rest of my week horrible. I hope he finds the peace that he didnt have here on earth.

if you don't...consider yourself unfortunate...he was more passionate about his music than 99% of the artists around today, and i would be willing to bet more than any band you listen to

Courage and strength aren't the same thing...he knew what he wanted and he did it, despite what others would say about him, despite how painful his method might be...that's courage
Obviusly he had a weak physicality as he repeatedly had problems with drugs and alcohol...but that has nothing to do with courage
