I dont know if any of you noticed.. but the new trend in rock music is creating a sound that goes back to the classics such as Jimmy Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. Has anyone found any bands like this?
Some examples I found are STONE RIDER and THE PARLOR MOB.
POST SOME OF YOUR FAVs.

Wolfmother and Jet have heavy classic rock influences.
But they suck.
So it doesn't matter.

I don't like classic rock at all.
The lyrics are too bad for me to listen to no matter how infleuntial they may have been.
AGREED. the vocals were rarely anything special either (although there are some exceptions.)
and any random person with any sense of rhythm can pick up the drumbeats. the drummer for AC/DC had the same drumbeat for like every song and it was the easiest piece of shit ever.
the awesome, innovative, guitar parts hardly redeem the rest of the music, especially since there are bands like boys night out with guitar parts just as creative (on trainwreck), but also with amazing drums and pretty good lyrics, and decent vocals that at least dont sound like a butch trucker woman having a very painful fourth orgasm.

All the fuckin punk kids saying how classic rock was talentless is laughable. To be in a band and tour and stuff back then you had to actually be good. You couldn't just pick up a guitar, play three chords with some octaves and become a rockstar. Everyone who says classic rock is shit should go listen to fucking All Time Low and beat it in the corner.

I love classic rock. I like being able to hear the influence in some bands today, but not them ripping off old bands. And I agree on the drumming, I started listening to music that isn't classic rock when I started to really get into drums becuase 85% of classic rock is not challenging at all.

Heres my question. You have the great classic rock legends. Then you have today's generation. Who are going to be our great rock legends? Hinder? Three Days Grace? Oh dare I say..The Red Jumpsuit Appartus who experienced fame overnight, and Boys Like Girls? People seem to be overlooking the greats from today such as John Mayer. I know this is random..but it continues to bother me.
Yes. And?

John Mayer is a great of today?

In my opinion yes. But my question still stands...are there any great rock legends today?
Yes. And?

right there you only talked about guitar parts. i said that the guitar parts were awesome. everything else just sucks. (vocals, lyrics, especially the drums.)
by the way i fucking hate all time low. so why dont you go beat it in the corner to some random untalented guy with a lot of money who picked up sticks and started hitting two drums on his set of, fucking, 30, while another guy recorded his screeches of agony while sawing off his balls so he could fit them in spandex pants.
