In the Jungle.
Words written by: Mark Henderson
In the jungle,
The gorilla wants to be King
But the lion said "That's my thing."
The Lion wanted to be the pauper,
But the Monkey said "that won't be proper"
And the monkey wanted to be the protecter,
But the Gorilla said, "you're the pauper better."
And the Jungle, turns to night,
turns to day,
And none of the beasts,
got their way.
The Lion said, "why do we need a new King?
I am doing fine at it, I think!"
Then the gorilla said, "I think you should abdecate,
and make me the new king, before it's too late"
Then the monkey said, "Gorilla should be king, and I should be protector, as Gorilla is strong, and I am a fast interceptor."
Then the Lion said, "Well, I should be the pauper, because I'm tired of being the royal 'talker'."
And the Jungle, turns to night,
turns to day,
And none of the beasts,
got their way.
So the Lion became the pauper,
And gorilla became King.
Monkey became the protector,
And they all started to sing,
of the wonders and praises of their new jobs,
and the "necessity" of replacement of their old ones.
And the Jungle, turns to night,
turns to day,
And none of the beasts,
complained in any way.
One day in the Jungle, a stranger arrived,
And Gorilla investigated why.
But the monkey, who was rather T'd,
Said it shouldn't be him, "It should be me!"
"I'm the protector! I should find out!"
So the Gorilla and the monkey had a bout.
And the stranger brought his axe and saw
He chopped down a tree and fed it to the mill's maw.
The lion, Gorilla, and monkey never noticed
what happened that day.
They were too busy arguing in every way.
And the Jungle, turns to night,
turns to day,
And none of the beasts,
noticed the man, Hey!
Trees and trees and logs and logs
None of them stood a chance
and the Jungle home for the beasts
Shrunk by happenstance, and the man
who brought his axe and saw, and was feeding the trees to the mill's maw, was taking the home from
the Jungle beasts, who were too pre-occupied with their own career feats, and they could do nothing when the man came upon them, for they were all fighting with superior spin, suddenly said sapien
subtlely with squirrely shudderings, "You three will have to go, to make room for our buildings."
And the beasts were driven from their home, no matter a King, protector, pauper, or in between,
the Jungle was leveled and paved with concrete.
And in it's place, a new Jungle sprung to life,
With King's and protector's and paupers of its own, along with Jungle strife.
And the Jungle, turns to night,
turns to day,
And none of the beasts,
survived in any way.
