love them, their albums keep getting better & better, which would make the crane wife my favourite so far. i love meloy's sailor-ish vocal delivery & the way he & the band really tell a tale in each song. great band

looking forward to next years release

damn good band/ i saw them open for death cab live a few years ago at central park and ive been hooked since.

as a history dork, i get all nerded out when they play their "historical" stuff. that and there is a surefire guarantee that at least 87% of the songs on an album are guaranteed to be awesome.

and "The Mariners Revenge Song" is probably top five for favorite songs of all time for me. Also, that song is a must if you see them live. this summer i saw them with an orchestra, and then a couple of months ago my sister saw them cover Pink Floyd's "Echoes" in its entirety.

we have an official decemberists thread somewhere, but oh well. i was listening to her majesty all morning, for the first time in a while. love it.

Well, the user clearly isn't a regular so I'm just going to assume we're correct and hope to not be disproven anytime soon.
