what a fucking awesome show this was. Moneen played first and put on a very energetic performance. in fact, they were the band that had the most energy and stage presence that night. i really liked the way that they sounded and the effects they made with the guitars. it was really cool. they played for about 25 minutes and were well received by the crowd. i'm not too familiar with Moneen, but after seeing them it made me go out and get their album before i left the show.
after a 15 to 20 minute, it was Taking Back Sunday's turn to play. the lights went off, the crowd went wild, and the band got into their set by playing "You Know How I Do" and then followed by "Bike Scene." other songs they played were "Cute w/o The E", "Blue Channel", "Head Club", and "Timberwolves at NJ". the band also played 2 new songs and a cover. i'm pretty sure it was the cover they did when they performed on Jimmy Kimmel. Adam had a lot of interaction with the crowd and was dancing and throwing the mic like he usually does. TBS closed their set with "There's No I In Team".
Unfortunately since I was really near the stage and was being pushed around and getting kicked in the face by crowd surfers, i had to take a breather. i was hagning out with my friends in the lobby area and lost track of time for when Saves The Day came out. i managed to get back to the stage area and see them finish up playing "At Your Funeral", which was what they opened up with. they quickly moved onto "All Star Me" and "Anywhere With You". STD had a very diverse set that had songs from all their albums. the majority came from Stay What You Are and In Reverie. they played "Ups and Downs" which is one of my fav STD songs and it made me really happy. this was my first time seeing STD in which Chris is is playing guitar and he did an awesome job. the sound quality that STD had was soooo much like their albums. it was really good. one thing i did notice about STD is that it seems as if they are trying to be like Weezer by the way they played. the band didn't really have much interaction like Moneen and TBS did, but this allowed them to play a lot of songs. i'm pretty sure they played somewhere around 19 to 22 songs. the lighting and background for STD was really cool. the best part of STD's set was when they covered the new Outkast song. they actually did a better job than Outkast. anyway, during that song Adam, Mark, and the new bassist for TBS came out on stage and started dancing.
it was a really good show and one of the best ones i've been to. best part was when after the show me and my friends went to In n Out to eat and we saw Eddie, Mark, and the new TBS guitarist there. they were really cool guys and took time out of eating to talk with the fans. the new guitarist is really nice and he told me that after this tour they are gonna work on a new album and are thinking about doing Warped Tour.
