damn no kidding. it was my #5 album of the year. i thought it destroyed the ep. i heard a lot (A LOT A LOT) of long island/glassjaw influence, and glassjaw is my favorite band of all time, which is why i loved it so much. oh well.

Ah, finally, a list I agree with.
Haha at 'Hipbones and Microphones.' The Maine probably should've made that list too, but I love them anyway.
Amen to the crocs bit.
You're driving me crazy with "Let's Toast" as 'Favorite B-Side of 2007.' Can't find it for the life of me.

your list looks a lot like one i'd make... except for these things: best record label: Epitaph, and saddest breakup: Matchbook Romance.

plus i'd have The Matches in about every "best ____" category.

A pretty respectable list but there are still some things that I completely disagree with. I don't know how you could have rated Fall Out Boy's album so highly and then refer to Envy On The Coast as overrated. I didn't even realize they were even on the radar cause I don't hear about them often.

Other than that you had many albums that weren't in my top 20 in yours and you also had many albums that were in my top 20 in yours. Overall I liked your list. But putting AVA, Fall Out Boy, Mayday Parade, ATL, Farewell, and MCS so high were the main ones I disagree with. Other than that the list isn't terrible by any means. I like a lot of the albums on your list.

I think I just said the same thing 1,000 different times. Sorry about that. I'm pretty damn hammered.

EOTC is overrated to me because there was a lot of hype surrounding the album..after giving it plenty of listens, I hated it so I just couldn't find what people liked about it. Fall Out Boy is one of my favorite bands though and I loved their new album so that's why it's on my list. Just has to do with my tastes being that of a 8 year old girl I guess.

Surprise surprise, your numerous list consist only of the same fifty bands this site regularly reports on. Also, Driving East is constantly featured on AP as a band to watch, or sited as being "the next big thing." News flash: Driving East are thirty-year-old douches that are never going to "make it."

I'd like to see some love given to Manchester Orchestra in some catagory by one of you guys, honestly.

"Hardest Working Band" would be an amazing fit.

Your list is fine, the new FOB album isn't all that bad, I think that people want to discredit them for the armys of awkwardly dressed 14 year girls, and Pete Wentz. But they aren't half bad.

Some Bad Relgion love? Maybe a little bit?

Still trying to figure out how two bands with amazing techniques of composition and performance and that put on some of the best live shows I saw this year made your "most overrated" list: Modest Mouse and The Arcade Fire. "Neon Bible" might be the best album of the year - you won't find a better layered album.

You, Me, and Everyone We Know? The band, like the movie, was an absolute uproar over nothing.

This Time Next Year is playing with Cartel next week

I'm pretty sure this was supposed to piss me off or something but there's two issues with this:

1) I don't see the correlation between this and my comment.
2) I'm assuming these are bands, and if so, I have no idea who they are.

Completely disagree. They're going to be around for awhile.

false, unless Paramore can put out a new album by early early 2009, their career is over... Riot was a flavor of the week album, similar to Ocean Avenue... We all know where YC went. I think they should have been rock star big like FOB, but it didnt happen.

sundaydrivetsl
05/21/08, 04:31 PM
Im not a Paramore hater, just with how quick musical tastes and fans are changing, i dont see them sustaining a career...By the time their next album comes out i think their fans will be grown out of the fad.

AKA TSL time from SILYMI to BOATS.
