I personally love black jack because it is relatively simple to count cards and you can still play when you're hammered as long as you can add to 21.

I'm going to Las Vegas later this month and I really need to learn how to play craps. I only play roulette when I go.

i'm not a fan of craps at all. people get big on it because it causes a scene. there are so many other games to play that will lead to more money

yea i totally agree. i wasn't sure where to put the thread. but i figured if they can put poker on espn, i'll just put it here.

In my opinion they are no more a sport than playing monopoly...they are games hah. I dont know why ESPN broadcasts Poker other than people love it for some reason. It could go on the Game Show Network but that channel doesnt get alot of viewers. But yeah sports forum makes the most sense.

again, totally agree. they play a bunch of poker shows onthe travel channel. i can't imagine it gets good ratings on espn. it boring as hell to watch.
i do have to say they have a bit of a different angle then games though. having money on the line makes things so much more interesting. play a game of pool with a buddy, then play a game with someone else for some cash, it is a whole different ball game.

there's nothing worse than sitting in a casino, listening to a douchebag sit at the blackjack table, and try to explain to the people around him the "intricate" method of playing the odds of the game.

yea, you're right. i'm not going to sit in this thread indefinitely. but i will periodically drop by.
if you don't understand why i posted this thread in this forum, then you can see my logic above. plus we've had other gambling threads here before, ie http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=246326&highlight=poker. if you still disagree with my choice for the location of this thread, then you don't have to post.

i agree with you on one point of your points. i love the odds, and i hate it when others don't know not to hit when dealer is showing sixteen. i however don't like to talk to other players at all. if i get a guy who talks a lot, i'll move to a new table.
i still don't see the love for craps though. i guess i just have to find a hot table and get into it

ouch, now my feelings are hurt. but like i said, blackjack is what i like to play. i welcome all things gambling related. in no way did i say that this thread was strictly for black jack. and i also stated that in no way do i think that gambling is a sport; i just said why i thought it would fit better in here than in any of the other forums.
but please, continue to bash me posts, it will give me a reason not to forget i made this thread and we can keep it going. maybe then people who actually would like to talk about gambling and not how much of a douche they think i am will join in a real discussion with me.

Ha ha. Seriously, why is it such a big deal where stuff gets posted? I can understand getting annoyed if something is blatatly misplaced but this is just nitpicking.

not a sport but i think the fact that the competition makes it a better fit here than in say entertainment
