On the 4400 block just
west of where i live
underneath the street light
is where i watched you fall

drowning in your tears
hoping that the rain
would wash away all
the broken peices of your heart

maybe one day this
picture perfect life you see
when you close your eyes tight
will become something real

you're waiting for the day
someone will hold you
until the sun burns out

you say the way he talked
was like poetry
and the way he walked
was straight from a movie scene

so on the 4400 block
just west of where i live
i watched the sun rise
with someone i didn't even know

and on the 4400 block
you once danced in the street
hoping that feeling would never end
