i wanna know if this girl likes me of if she's just being nice. so here's an e-mail sent me for you to base your opinion on. i'm really not sure. we dont know each other very well. she's a 3rd year english major and i'm a 1st year history major.
"Actually, I was hoping you would email me personally as opposed to sending it to the blankpage mail as well... And as for confidentiality, you don't even have to worry about that.
I understand about the printing problem. There were a few... It was our first publishing experience, and unfortunately, I was not around the last few hours where things seem to have gotten... well ... a little mixed up. I don't think you should worry about that, though... Your poems will be resubmitted/reprinted in the next issue (coming out in the new year, after the break, of course) with apologies... I really wish I had been around those last few hours, because I feel as though a lot of mistakes could have been so easily avoided.
Anyway! I was not at all disappointed that you didn't read, but was very sad that you left. I had been looking forward to seeing you, I suppose. I guess that's a little silly, actually, but ... well. I think I'm pretty silly. You don't have to apologize for leaving, I was just worried about you (that sounds strange). I don't want you to feel weird around me, so I hope none of this email upsets you further.
You should keep submitting to the blankpage account, but feel free to email me whenever you want ^__^ I would like to believe that I'm not intimidating, but it's hard to tell. "

a friend wouldn't do that.

Everybody's saying just go for it; I disagree. She is certainly into you, but that doesn't mean you jump ahead without playing the game. Every girl is different. Try and quickly figure out what kind of moves you need to be making to get what you're looking for out of the relationship. Again, I can't stress this enough: every girl is different, so try and read what she is and will be responding to. Best of luck, and have fun.
And wow. Just typing that made me feel like an asshole. I'll still stand by every straightforward word of it.

Offer her anal and if she says yes then she likes you.

Just ask her man.
Problem will be solved immediately - the answer will be either yes or no. And if its an I dont know. Fuck it. Indecisive girls are not worth it.

I feel so incredibly awkward reading about 16 year olds talking about anal.
I think Jason should add a filter so that anytime anyone under the age of 18 types the word "anal" it gets replaced with "cookies."
"Offer her cookies and if she says yes then she likes you." See? Still makes perfect sense and no one of legal age needs to feel creepy haha...

and having a 16 year old GIRL give that as advice is even more strange.

I don't know, offering girls cookies can be pretty damn creepy too, in a certain context. Like say, old man in a van offering young girl cookies if she gets in...

I think she likes you.
She just sounds either unsure if she likes you or unsure if she SHOULD like you.
She's got this "throw it out there, reel it back in" thing going on. She says she's worried/misses you, then she says it sounds silly. That's so she's giving you the boost she wants to give you, but if you don't want it, there's always that retraction.
My two cents.

right, so i e-mailed her back.
i was nice but not cheesy, casual but not distant. i asked if she wanted to get together for coffee or whatever. all very casual and polite. thing is, it's been over a week and she hasn't replied. althought it is exam time here, but then again, i'm very she must've had time 2 minutes to reply. i don't think i scared her off and if she wasnt interested she could've just said no. hm, i really like her, but i'm unsure about my next move. should i e-mail her again or wait some more. i know it is pathetic btw, >_>

Don't email her again, that'll make you look desperate. With text and email communication, if the answer is a no, she'd probably rather not tell you no, because she thinks you'll feel better that way (although all it does is drive us nuts). Even if she does, it'll often be a lame excuse with a vague possibility of a future meeting.
My recommendation: Find her. Somehow. Then ask her out in person. Then you'll know for sure.

yeah don't email her again...it's a game, you have to be patient. if she emails you back, don't instantly respond. play hard to get, like she is..try and get that upper hand where you control the situation and shes waiting for your response, like you are now. Just don't be too eager..try and play it cool where you don't really care..that'll make her more interested..
