i did some light research on the topic.

I downloaded the jason mraz because I already had the bright eyes song, and compared. It's the same song. And all the websites that have lyrics for it don't mention it as a cover song. And coversproject.com, which has every cover ever done on it, doesnt even list it as a cover song. Which is such crap.

There's a song by the O.C. Supertones with words and melody strikingly similar to "Punk Rock Show" by MxPx. I don't know when the MxPx song debuted, but the Supertones song is from about 1996. Anyone know anything about that?

I think maybe they copied each other on purpose, because I think back in the day those bands were good friends and toured a lot together. I think they were both on the same label (Tooth & Nail).
