what would it be?
ONE SONG ONLY.
I think for me it would be Thrice- For Miles.
Slow piano parts? check.
Heavy screaming parts? check.
Lyrics I actually relate to? check.
I also noticed the other day it is my most listened to song on my MP3 player. I don't know if I would say it is my FAVORITE song ever, but it sure seems to do a lot in one song.

Ugh...this this hard. In general, it'd be a tie between "Do You Still Hate Me?" and "Alex Chilton". I can't really pick just one.

I'd have to echo El Jeffe's (Craig, right?) suggestion and start with A River Ain't Too Much To Love since you enjoy the whole lonesome troubadour thing.
If you want something that isn't so bare, give his earlier releases a try.

Ohh, thats hard.
I'll have to think about it...
Common People by Pulp.
A band with a great frontman.
A song with great lyrics and a charm
A nice rocking bit
A singalong chorus.
Limousine by Brand New
great lyrics, quiet parts, loud parts, chaos, calm, and a tractor-type noise. Suh-wheet.

That might change later though.

I don't think I could ever pick just one song that represents my musical taste, because my taste changes so freqently.

even though most of my music is pop-punk, still all the pop-punk bands i listen to have a different flavor to them. i hate the stereotypical all time low/hit the lights/mayday parade etc. pop-punk too.
if i really had to pick one song it'd probably be "chia-like, i shall grow" by say anything. it's energetic, it's catchy, it's got intricate guitar and drum work, it's a tadbit progressive in the bridge, it's lyrically well written, it's unique, it uses cool chord progressions... very well articulates my majority of tastes between mature pop-punk and energetic alternative.
it doesnt account for my tastes in some mellow alternative and in somewhat folky acoustic music, however.
at first i was gonna say scary-movielife......
but i changed my choice to rise against- prayer of the refugee

i love you and that incredible song. it pretty much sounds like a classical masterpiece with vocals, they put a lot into it. it felt so cool, the day i sat down and learned all of it. except the drums. i want a drumset so bad.

[something about pretzels]!!! What a hard question!
I think it would be a hard choice between : Quiet Things that Noone ever Knows, Cute without an E, Seven Years, Poetic Tradegy, and One Man Drinking Games.
So, my obvious choice is, Dressed for Friend Requests by Drop Dead, Gorgeus. Haha. It has everything I need in a song!
On another note, drop dead gorgeous is pretty damn bad.

Pretzels are twisted; a word which can be defined in more ways than one. I thought to ask someone to select a single song to represent themselves would be a demanding thing to do.

Good thread...
If I to pick 1 song...
I think it would have to be the entire 12+ minutes of:
"Jesus Was A Test Tube Baby" by Stage
Strange song title I know, but still a very impressive and dynamic song that reflects several sounds I love...
There's explosions in there too haha.
Ahh yes, can't forget those.
Thanks champion. I'm in AP English. I can type just fine, thank you.

Impossible for me considering the varying taste in music I have but whenever I think of music TSL's Island comes to mind. I don't know what it is about that song but I've loved it since I first heard it before the album was released. I'm not even close to being sick of it yet either.

College. Writing. Getting a lot more friends than I ever used to have. Its been a busy life. Its finals week so I can slack off and rip at people's music tastes again now.
But as far as music taste goes, either Snicker Snicker or Anthony Braxton's To composer john cage (8f)

it builds.
then panic.
rage.
then you're home.
