I had the privilege of seeing both bands one night after the other (tbs the 30th, SR the 31st)..

and I can say that Straylight Run blows TBS away. The new TBS songs are very iffy, and they hardly have any of the PIZAZZ they had with John Nolan.

also... michelle nolan is so beautiful she is like a fallen angel (how could adam cheat on her???)

i like tbs but i am glad that he left though, cus i still like tbs but you get straylight run.

yeah i'll give you that emotion is good. But they still aren't very good. The mistakes we knew we were making is a good song. But the rest of them suck asssssss. Not good emo Not good emo

You're crazy. Straylight Run's songs are all pretty awesome.

They're one of the few modern bands of this "scene" that actually deserve the hype they get.

I completely agree... and we need to just stop talking about both bands... there have been so many threads about this already.

...but as long at this thread is open, Straylight Run is churning out some quality songs. "The Tension And The Terror" was in my head all day today, and I couldn't be more glad.

This topic has been picked over so many times it's hard to keep track on which band is which. But I still have to give my 2 cents.

Straylight Run - good band, strong lyrics, John Nolan ruled more when he was in TBS.

TBS - it may be hard for some to say this, but ... TBS still rules, no matter how many people think different. Losing John Nolan hurt them, but that happens. And the best bands are the ones that lose members, get new ones, then still have the same quality of music as they did before. Look at AC/DC. Went through how many vocalists, yet still one of the best, if not the best old rock band to date. I know that's a iffy example for a punk site, but still.

I like Straylight Run, but to me, their just another emo band out there.

Taking Back Sunday is THE emo band out there.
