im sure if i sifted through every thread here i could find alot of great recommendations...but im lazy?

im dying for a more expansive collection of music. you can only rotate the same ten cd's for so long.

i love fall out boy. and for all the haters, i loved them before mtv knew they existed. but i guess any band can lose some of its flare after non-stop listening. and ill readily admit that tttyg is their best album thus far.

i like pop-punk, mainly. i hate bands that scream alot. screaming sparringly is okay, and even encouraged by me. i write lyrics and poems, so i am attracted to a band who puts out interesting, thoughtful, and clever lyrics. lyrics are paramount. i also enjoy a lead singer who has a unique voice. i.e. a new found glory, jimmy eat world, fall out boy, hit the lights, etc.(although the lead singers of afformentioned bands voice may not be unique in your opinion.)

i guess im just looking to expand on a genre i love and try out some new bands that are in the same vein as pop punk, but slightly different sounding.

so, ill leave you with a list of bands i like and a thank you in advance for your help.

those are some bands I like.
You should check out The Honorary Title as well. You may not like them, but they're a good band.

by the way, you don't need to prove to everyone that you liked FOB before they hit MTV. We believe you. It's okay. That kind of stuff will probably get you flamed here. :-)

I never thought I'd see Cobra Starship and Explosions in the Sky in the same list. Oh well, each to their own.

Have you checked out "Desoto Jones", "Mew", "Feable Weiner", "Bloc Party", "Hell is for Heroes", "Cauterize", "Enter Shikari", "Fightstar", "Funeral for a Friend", "Holy Roman Empire", "Idiot Pilot", "Karate High School", "Knockout Kings", "Our Lady Peace", "Quietdrive", "Secondsmile", "The Stiletto Formal", "Straylight Run", and "Tsunami Bomb", "

We're not like that here, not unless you start ripping into other people's music tastes. I believe the conversation goes....

You: I love Fall Out Boy, your punk sucks
Them: [insert long monologue about Pete Wentz] in short, the only thing that sucks is your mom.
You: Oh yeah, well [insert obscene comment about other person's matriarch] I'd like to see you come here and say that...

Newscaster: In other news a youth from Missouri was found dead today when a violent flame war on a website spilled over into real life. The cause was apparently a Fail Safe Boy T-Shirt which was used to suffocate the young male.

Welcome to AP, good to have you :)
