One of my close friends passed away this summer and I'm getting a memorial tattoo for him (I already have 4). My only problem is I can't draw for shit, so I'm having a hard time coming up with what I want. It's almost like it's too personal for me to think of something good, so I thought maybe total strangers might have some interesting ideas.
So far I know I want his initials (JPM), maybe the dates ('84-'07) and I'd like it to have to do with stars. A quote would be nice too, I have a few in mind, but its been really difficult.
Thanks guys.

Just don't use any lame band quotes. I mean (lame band) quotes, but for that matter don't use any lame (band quotes) either.

You have 4 memorial tats or just 4 tats in general?
Was there anything specific to your relationship, like a common interest or an inside joke, or any specific thing that was significant to your relationship?

4 tats in general, thank god they're not all memorial lol
so many things, one thats jumping out was this insane red blazer he used to wear all the time... so i was thinking about if i did a group of stars in black or something, having one be red.
this is way harder when you dont want to get a crucifix or angel or something.

Haha, I hear you. Yeah, that's what I'd do - something specific to the relationship. But it's totally up to you. Good luck!

Well, this was a person whom u loved and was special to you... this shoudnt be a difficult question. Think about him and what he loved that alone should give u plenty of ideas, for a qoute well think of some phrase or line he'd always say... personally I'd use an inside joke for a qoute, and as for imagery, I'd use his favorite thing in the world, something he was passionate about...

maybe bring some of your ideas to the shop you're getting it done at and talk to an artist.. i'm sure they'll have some good ideas for you

If you have any mutual friends who are good artists, have a brainstorming session with them and see if they can put it all together.

Memorial tats are soooo cliche.
Anything along the lines of "Gangstas 4 Life" or mentioning how real you're keeping it usually does the trick.

i suggest you go to the shop for some help; they usually have some creative artists. and sorry for your loss

so sad...
i know this guy who had cancer and his brother gave him his blood and then thery both got matching tatoos saying 'b1ood'
it means 1 blood, they share that blood.
well, i dunno. i really like the idea of an inside joke for a tatoo.
or something meaningful.
i dunno, but an inside joke sounds the best.
