hey has anyone heard about this movie? its probably the creepiest (not really scary, just extremely creepy and distrubing) movie I've heard about in a while. It's a fictional documentary about this serial killer who videotapes everything, including his murders. and they also weave in segments of news reports regarding the killer. first time i saw i thought it was real but its fake.

the official trailer: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Bm7uRifygDM

and heres like a 50 second clip from the movie that I just thought was REALLY disturbing/creepy: http://youtube.com/watch?v=fmK8AdvkvLg (there is an age verficiation for this youtube video)

I just heard about this movie yesterday when I went to see I am Legend. Looks pretty good, although early ratings say otherwise.

so THAT'S where all my videos went off to, ive been looking for them for ages!

but in allseriousness, i saw the few few seconds of the trailer and for a moment got my hopes up that they were finally doing a movie version of The Navidson Record...only to be let down yet again. that said, im still gonna see this.

I volunteered at the Tribeca Film Festival this year, and this was the one movie I really wanted to see, but I didn't get to. Is it being released? What's the scoop?

Supposedly the theatrical release date is February 08, 2008.

like i think if this was shot like a regular movie with a movie-style camera with a score it wouldnt be that bad

but its shot like on a video camera, and theres no score jsut the muffled screams of victims

and my god the way he walks in that clip, so weirddddd

wait, hasn't this been done before? apparently there was an actual REAL documentary where a serial killer let a cameraman follow him around while he did interviews and murdered real people. but its supposedly banned from everywhere..i heard about this like 3 years ago..

Just watched it. Pretty stupid. Unintentionally funny in a few places. The talking head interviews are what really gives away the fact that this is a fake story. I mean, the very first person "interviewed" in the film is this guy:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0111179/

He's one of those guys who's "been in everything" so you recognize his face from somewhere. Just some of the things people say and do in the interviews are pretty unbelievable too. Some of the "tapes the killer made" are creepy, but it's not enough to make me want to recommend this to people.

You're thinking of "Man Bites Dog," which was also a fake documentary about a guy that goes around killing people with a film crew taping it all.

The movie trailer for this just looked like it was crossing a line. I'm pretty burnt out on the whole torture porn thing and that's really all this looked like.

I expect nothing less from the guy who did Quarantine.
