View Full Version : One Missed Call aka Worst Movie Ever...
B-Bones

Anyone heard / seen previews for this movie. I can't believe it's actually real. It's something like, you get a missed call and then you listen to your voice mail and then you die. For an idea of how stupid it will be, watch this: http://groups.imeem.com/Debwhgxn/video/8ctWPuFW/warner_bros_pictures_thats_not_my_r ingtone_film_clip_movi/ Are you serious? "That's not my ringtone," such a fucking ridiculous line. Is this shit for real?

While I'm sure it undoubtly terrible beyond belief I do not see this being the worst movie ever. Ever heard of the shit called Captivity or Black Christmas? Yeah this can't be as bad as those. Or Supernova or Battelfeild: Earth.

I haven't seen the original, but it's a Takashi Miike film so I doubt it's bad.
This remake looks absolutely awful though.

Yet I'm willing to bet it opens at number one.

I'm just saying, if people like the Japanese version, maybe that is worth checking out. We already know that there hasn't been a good American remake (aside from The Departed) so maybe we should just stick with the old.

haha, awesome review from RT:
One Missed Call is the first major motion picture release of 2008, in charge of setting the tone for the lengthy year to come. My friends, the future does not look promising. In fact, it feels like a swift kick to the groin.

It's as if Vanilla Ice wrote the script, sampling elements from The Ring and The Grudge with a dash of Pulse sprinkled in.

Ha, well it seems like every time there is an American remake of a horror movie with a ridiculously bad concept comes and is, in fact, ridiculously bad, there's always a crowd that claims the Japanese version is good. While I believe it's probably better, the concept is just atrocious.

I don't think even Takashi Miike could make this premise good, as sad as that is.

We were going to see this yesterday (only because one of my friends would have bitched and moaned about seeing Juno again) but two out of the four of us hadn't seen Juno and really wanted to.
And then he couldn't come, so the three of us saw Juno and I loved seeing it again.
and just the CONCEPT for this movie is retarded.

I knew it was going to blow, but our plans we're canceled and so we just went for it.

So...let me get this straight. Why is it that Japanese horror movies all run along the same theme?
Everyday object(video tape, video game, phone, a computer) is EVIL. If you watch/play/answer/turn on said object. YOU DIE.
The formula almost makes porn creatively innovative.
