The Police, The Cars, and Good Charlotte

Is it just me or does anyone else here alot of the police and the cars in good charlottes music, and also that damned Fountains of Wayne. There new stuff has strong influences from the same bands. I remember when they had the "sink to the bottom" video like YEARS ago. That was a straight ass song though.

Good Charlotte really needs to just go and kill themselves. And if they don't, I will stab them with their fans' spike bracelets. Why do I hate GC so much? Hm. They really have changed into celebrities. And I mean, they aren't really four guys from Waldorf, MD anymore. They are...fake. Their music is horrible. I can't even stand to listen to it without gagging and choking and dying. But I still respect them. I guess it's hard, coming from no where and suddenly being so famous that Billy and Paul can't go outside without being asked where the twins are. But oh well. What are we gonna do about it?

I think that GC definately has a sound that is influenced by The Cars and The Police. I have also come to the conclusion that a large majority of the music discussed on this board is influenced in one way or another by The Cure.

I guess I can see a little bit of an influence in GC's music. I'm more of a fan of their old CD...it's really good. Their new one was very trendy and commercial, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I used to be a huge GC fan but I've kind of lost it. I need to listen to more Police and Cars to really hear the influence, though.

I don't see what everyone's problem with Good Charlotte is. They're pop-punk, just like Yellowcard, New Found Glory, and God knows how many other bands that get constant praise.
