I liked them for about a month, then I got over it. Every time I turned on the TV they were on Nickeloden playing for 10-year-olds. I bought their CD when I was into them, and now I'm stuck with it because there's no one that wants it.

I used to really like them a lot. I bought their CD before i was familiar with their 'image'. And thought it was mostly great. Which it still is, except for the obvious stinkers like "My Alien" (shudder), and the few songs where they make references to being grounded, not studying for their tests, and having to follow their parents' rules, when they're in like their mid-twenties.

My problem with them is the fact that they pursue a fanbase of ten-year-old girls. (Hillary Duff's birthday bash anyone?)

I still think that most of their songs are really good, but I have trouble listening to them anymore without conguring images in my mind of Hillary Duff lip-syncing the words with tears in her eyes on her birthday, and then hugging Pierre afterwards.

Fortunately I don't have mtv so that's not a problem.

My sister saw them on the Macy's parade today and said that they sang addicted, but the network bleeped out the word "dick", so that they said "but I want you know, I'm a ****, I'm addicted to you". I thought that was really funny, because now people who don't know that song (generally old people and small children) are gonna wonder what they're saying. "I'm a fuck, I'm addicted to you" That gave me quite the chuckle.

Why are people so obsessed with their image now adays. Simple Plan yes they suck really bad and sound like girls but why must everyone say oh they dress like they're hardcore. There are many better bands but Simple Plan is not the worst in the world. I mean I don't want to sound like a jackass but really don't piss on people because of their dress, Simple Plan is kind of like Good Charlotte just GC makes a lot more money by how they look rather than sound.

I started listening to Simple Plan when their CD was first out, WAY before they were on MTV or had any radio play... I like them but don't.... The Love-Hate thing going on..... but it's not them I truly hate, it's the type of attention they have now, being on these lil' girl Teen Magazines.... I enjoy them as a pop-punk group but the trendy kids are what ruined my liking of them and other bands like them.

i know a lot of people doesn't like them for their mainstreamness.. but unlike a LOT of mainstream artists, they haven't stopped touring since the day their record came out and even before that. its crazy how these five guys have worked hard in the two years. That's mainly what have made me respect them.. i've seen them in concert and both times they were as energetic and awesome. For all the shit they've been getting over and over again, its pretty incredible that they're still standing.

I was thinking today, oh my god, Simple Plan has been around for almost nine years and they haven't put a record out in almost five. If anyone here follows Simple Plan they'd know that much of the people here's complaints about them aren't true anymore. They don't dress hardcore, or have spikey hair, they're not posers because they refer to themselves as a "pop" band, and the first record where they talk about how hard it is being a kid, they weren't actually in their mid-twenties, they were just teenagers when they wrote it.

The thing about being a young band is that you need to market to a young audience, hence why they played with Hilary Duff and played on stations where they had to bleep out "dick". lol. And the thing is once they grow up, they've taken these four years and done soul-searching, now being in their late twenties the real funny thing is how all the young fans who downloaded "No Pads" in 2006 are leaving them for "changing" or "finally growing up." It's kinda funny.

Oh, well. Less ten-year-old tweeny-boppers at shows and more room for me.
