Wanted to put the feelers out there and see if anyone would be interested in this. I was thinking of starting a film blog where I would upload a few films every week (with synopsis, review, maybe a RIYL section) and then we could have a discussion about any or all of the films in here (try to promote a little lively debate and critique) without ad hominum attacks and insults. The only thing is I would upload them on Rapidshare which would mean that in order to view them you would have to buy a RS account (only like 9 bucks for one month).

Lemme know if you'd be interested (if 5 or more people would be interested I'd be willing to do it). I think it could be cool and I'd take requests for films to upload and discuss. It could be like a small film discussion group or something. I was thinking of doing mainly films in the 50's, 60's and 70's foreign and domestic but I'd definitely be open to suggestions.

I would totally be interested, couldn't download for a few months though due to money constraints. But anything I could find around here (or i've seen already) I would definitely get in on the discussion for.

Yeah, in your case you might have seen them already so that would work out fine.

I don't know if I'd have time to watch all the films/contribute, but I would definitely read the reviews and posts.

I'd contribute as much as I could. Sounds like a good idea.

I'd love to be able to discuss Rohmer's Six Moral Tales and Cassavetes Five Films (Shadows, Faces, A Woman Under the Influence, The Killing of a Chinese Bookie, Opening Night) with someone other than myself.

Haha that's cool; I meant that I just don't know any of my friends who would ever watch anything from Rohmer. Or Cassavetes. Or Bergman, or Godard, or Antonioni, or Fellini, or Melville, or Truffaut, etc.

You could just upload them to VeohTV or Stage 6. I tend not to download films but stream them.

Sit those fuckers down and tell them that they're missing out on life. That'll get to them.

Or, become friends with more English majors. All my English major friends are somehow obsessed with film so it makes for entertaining drunk discussions about how influential ___________ is on cinema, world, and life itself.

This is the reason I can't wait to transfer to UW-M and start on my Journalism (with Film Studies minor) degree.
