Memphis (1) (26-0, 12-0 Conference-USA)
Tennessee (2) (24-2, 11-1 SEC)
This is a big enough game that it can use it's own thread. I'm just curious what everyone thinks the outcome is going to be.
I think it's important to note that Bruce Pearl says the orange suit will not be worn for this game.

Memphis by about a dozen, 84-72. Dorsey and Dozier will be the difference. Memphis will control the tempo at home and pull away in the 2nd half.

I think Tennessee is going to be a great team to watch come tournament time, but Memphis is just too disciplined and too well coached to let this game slip from their grasp.
I'm going Memphis 85, Tennessee 77.

Memphis
Memphis. If Lofton slips back into his slump they'll lose big.

I don't care who wins, as long as it's entertaining.

same.
what tennessee needs to do is have all of their reserves foul out. memphis is the worst free throw shooting team in the entire country. even N.J.I.T. who is 0-28 has a better free throw shooting percentage.

Memphis has too much size, IMO. Tennesee just won't be able to hang with them. Memphis 84, Tennessee 79
Anyway, I think Memphis is going to atleast the final four. Capilari's one hell of a coach. Should be a good game, though. Had this one on my calender for atleast a couple months.

I think Tennessee, at home, would win this game. But they scale back their press on the road, and if you do not force Derrick Rose to make riskier plays you allow him to settle in and make fewer mistakes. The teams are not that far apart, but in a slower game, Memphis will win by 10....in a faster game where Derrick Rose can be made to think he has to prove something to everyone on TV by running an almost-Suns like offense, they would lose by 5.
But someone from ESPN, i forget who, made the great point that Tenn scales back their press on the road...and if they do that they lose in the 1st half really

D-Rose reps the 312.

I'll pick Memphis because of the home advantage.
Tennessee is going to be incredibly tough come tourny time, but I also think they could easily drop out somewhat early in the tournament.

wow...the kenpom predictions is:
Memphis 81
Tenn 71
Thats a large gap for a game that is seemingly pretty close...wonder what the scouting report says
Edit: It predicts 77 possessions...even though Tenn averages 72 and Memphis averages 71? Seems a little odd...especially for teams that don't turn the ball over that frequently.

I want number of possession updates every 10 minutes. So you better keep track.

I dunno, I'll try, but I might be a little worn down from watching MSU under perform for the 15th straight game earlier

I don't really care who wins as long as it's a good game. I love upsets though, so go Tennessee.
