Yep, I've heard of them, they plague me back here in the UK - they're surprisingly popular.

But you know that they can't be what they're billed when they support a band like Mcfly.

In essence, both of them suck in my opinion.

I just got their album and I really like it.

Saw them live as well and they got showed up a bit by You Me At Six but they were still pretty good in my opinion.

Maybe seen them live and realised they are really good? heard some more material thats worthy of respect? I would love to know, as I have liked the band for nearly three years now, and they need more credit than they get to be honest :)

I don't really listen to them that much anymore, I still like them though ... I dunno.

Discover is alright but not as good as the stuff on the S/T imo.

I'm reviving this topic because I wasn't a fan of their first album, but I've been playing Solaris consistently since fall 2009. Looking forward to hearing what they do next.

Oh, and people comparing them to McFly isn't really fair. Elliot Minor is comprised of classically trained musicians, and Solaris really shows this off. All the strings you hear on those songs isn't some over the top production with studio trickery. They are actually playing those instruments. It's pretty impressive considering they take a very pop rock approach.
