I would feel really bad for you.

But I'd also ask a very important question: WHO do you take with the first pick in the draft? Or do you trade down...?

Personally, I'd trade down.
What would you guys do?

Chris Long

No way I'd trade down though. This team isn't going to be a contender for a few years and they need a young nucleus with top talent to build around. Some pieces are already in place, some aren't. I don't think it's worth trading down to get a late first round pick and picks in later rounds.

Dallas is the only team with two first round picks so unless you can get them to give up both of them for the number one pick I wouldn't trade it away.

Why not Glenn Dorsey?

Glenn Dorsey isnt a 3-4 DT. A Parcells organization will have a 3-4 defense.

Chris Long is perfect at DE for that. Hell, I'd even take Gholston over Dorsey in the 3-4.

but this is all moot because they'll be taking Matt Ryan as the QB for the future ;)

...I would pull the trigger.

And not on a big deal.

I'd trade it. If you're the Dolphins you need to stockpile as much cheap young talent as possible. With no clear cut #1, you're not going to get quite the package you might in another year, but 2-3 high round prospects are better than one.

except nobody is stupid enough to trade up for a prospect everyone knows they can sit around til spot #5 to get...especially at the risk of having to sign an inordinate contract and deal with holding out like Jamarcus Russell. The Long's are great prospects...but there is plenty of talent throughout that it isn't life-changing

They will take either Matt Ryan or one of the Longs and move on from there...unless somebody really, really wants to ruin their franchise

But we're not those other teams. We're the Dolphins.

yeah...but the dolphins need a team to trade to...and nobody will

Trade the pick to the Lions, if only, just to see them take Mario Manningham or something No. 1 overall.

hahaha...now that would be epic

odds Miami trades No 1. pick to Lions 25:1
odds Detroit takes someone like Mario Manningham if they get the 1st pick 2:1
odds the player Detroit picked would develop some type of cocaine problem 1:1

Got to be a cocaine or over eating problem. That's what did Mike Williams in. Dude loved McDonalds and not ... moving.

preppyak

if only he had a coke problem...he'd have been the opposite

I just hope they pick at least 1 WR on Day 1...it wouldn't feel like a draft without it

SOMEBODY will. They might not get someone's whole draft, but they could get two or three first day picks.

Yeah, there's always somebody who will take that first pick.

This is ok for isolated discussion. We need more focused discussion individual threads to attract new users.

If I were the Miami Dolphins GM I'd have a nice tan and would be richer than all of you motherfuckers.
