What do you listen to?

I've been listening to The Herd with Colin Cowherd online. I know he pisses a lot of people off, but I actually like a lot of his opinions too, and I think he's one of the more interesting sports personalities to listen to. Either way, he's good at raising arguments between me and my co-workers!

When i work during the summer i like Rome, he can be an asshole and i get sick of him hating on soccer....but he has some hilarious and smart bits too.

Cowherd is an absolute douchebag.

haha I really enjoy Cowherd, his show is one of my favorites.

I basically live off of ESPN Radio at work, so I listen to Mike & Mike, The Herd, and then Mike Tireco. I hate hate hate HATE Stephen A Smith's show, what a joke.

But, I'm going into Telecommunications, I want to have my own sports radio show one day.

i used to listen to mike & mike until boomer & carton (wfan 660 ny) came along. their show is much better than mike & mike and they have like 1/4 the commercial breaks.

ill give mike and mike this though, their show covers baseball (the whole league) pretty well, as well as football.

I listen to sports radio 1 hour a day 5 days a week, Hockey Central at noon on the fan 590 everything else in sports radio is complete trash.

I'm never up early enough for Mike & Mike.

Usually by the time i'm up i listen to the Dan Patrick show (imo waaaaaay better than cowherd), then Rome.
At night i've taken a liking to JT the Brick

It hurts my head to listen to Cowherd, the things he says are just....wow. like skip bayless wow.

Cowherd is incredibly stupid. I don't listen to Mike and Mike much anymore I used to listen to them often in college because I'd be driving to and from class in the morning. Here we have 610WIP and Howard Eskin is a moron. Sports Talk 950 isn't too bad, thats what Jim Rome is on. He's generally on around the same as stephen a. smith, so if I'm driving then, I'm listening to my Ipod. The local guy for ESPN radio here is the biggest homer, I've ever heard. Recently, he said "the Phillies are 10 wins better than any other team in the NL."

The worst however is Mike and Mad Dog. They know their shit, but I just cannot stand listening to them.

I listen to KNBR here in the bay area. Most of the shows are actually really good, Gary Radnich with Tony Bruno is absolute gold, and Fitz and Brooks is usually good as well.

Dan Patrick is extremely annoying.

My favorite show is Boers and Bernstein on 670 the Score in Chicago (2pm-6pm weekdays).
They're extremely polarizing, but I think they're hilarious. Give 'em a listen.

cowherd sucks. Mike and mike is good. Local stuff....but jim rome is where it's at for me. Guy is just to funny, and most of the time is spot on minus his rants on soccer. Also, haven't seen jd debrick/the brick mentioned. That guy is where its at.

I personally do not think that there is a better sports radio show in the country. Being from New York I'm definitely privileged in terms of sports radio, but having traveled around the country a bit, there is a lot of shitty sports radio out there. Especially the local ESPN shows.

nationally jim rome is the only guy i listen too and i love him. think hes one of the funniest guys in radio and one of the best interviewers in sports.
every other national guy dosent just ignore the nhl but will go out of their way to rip on it and disrespect the game and any fan who dares calls in and references it. example that fat ass ben maller. someone tell him to get off his horse and realize hes on "the third shift" for a reason. dont even get me started about Andrew Sciciliano. so i dont even give those guys the time of day now.

mike and mike isnt a real radio show anymore and theyre very overrated. they rely on the guest they get through their resources with espn. jt the brick is just an obnoxious ass. david stein of sporting news radio is ok i can listen to him but i dont really enjoy it.

locally in detroit we have 2 sports radio stations and both are full of great shows. on wdfn jamie samuelsson and sean balegean who i intern for are hilarious and know their shit. stoney and wojo has the make up of a syndacated show and are extrememly entertaining. on wkrk valenti and foster are the best radio duo in detroit as far as chemistry and knowledge.

its something im passionate about because its what i want to do.

have you heard any of greg brady? he was at the station i intern at here but he got laid off and went to toronto. hes pretty good when it comes to hockey and baseball.

heh, I kind of expected a lot of dislike for Cowherd, since he speaks pretty decisively about a wide range of topics, but I still think he's one of the more knowledgeable sports personalities when it comes to football, particularly college football. I certainly don't agree with him that often on a variety of topics, but I like hearing differing opinions on the radio.

That's the thing. All he does know is college football. He knows absolutely nothing else about other sports and his blatant disregard for hockey is a joke.

Herd kills so much air time with unsolicited advice. I don't understand why he is still on the radio. If I have to hear one more fucking thing about his divorce I'm going to go apeshit.

Unfortunately, there isn't anything else while I'm on my lunch break.
