View Full Version : Tourney Sleepers?

Who does everyone think will be tournament sleepers this years?

I think Davidson, USC, and Kent St. (assuming they all get in) would match up well with quite a few of the top teams (i.e. Duke). Oregon also has got a pretty impressive team, but I think they need to at least get to the Pac-10 championship to even be considered for the tourney, which is something I don't see happening.

We'll have to see how the brackets turn out to dive into this deeper, but I thought I'd get it started.

USC and K-State both have potential to be 2005 Syracuse.

USC...for one...and Portland State, because, everyone knows Portland State is badass.

I also expect Mt. Saint Mary's to give the #1 seed they play after the play-in game some trouble.

Baylor could have been that team...but they just dropped themselves from the tourney by losing to Colorado today

I'm a big USC fan. Also, give me Belmont and Davidson. 3rd straight year for both schools in the tourney and you have to love that experience, and the fact that Davidson has a legit go-to-scorer in Stephen Curry (Good thing Va Tech didn't offer him a scholarship, not like they could use him or anything, haha).

Good choice. I like that Pick.

USC, UMass

Umass is projected to be in the NIT? Are they still on the bubble?

West Virginia

I like that pick too.

K-State is a horrible choice, because honestly they are not very good. Still want that pick after their loss to A&M tonight? They are 10-6 in the Big 12, and 20-11 overall. I have never really be impressed by them all season. I suppose, MAYBE, if Beasley turned it on they could do something. But I really kind of doubt it.

Definitely agree, Baylor could of been a good team. Although, they are still on the bubble, and still could make the tournament. I don't think we'll know for sure til Sunday.

Fuck. That was my joke. We'll go out in the first round against a 1 or a 2, if we aren't in the play-in game. I can't believe AU made it. I would have went to all of the tournament games had they not been scheduled during spring break. We arent losing any players so we'll be the fgavorites next year, which should be sick. We weren't supposed to be that good this year.

I'm in Amsterdam and this computer is shit, so sorry about any spelling errors, etc.

well when I made that post, I was expecting they'd be able to get past the A-10 quarterfinals.

Any team with a player like Michael Beasley can make a 6 game run. And Texas A&M is not a bad team, they were ranked in the top 10 earlier in the season.

Dude, this may sound dumb but I watched some of the UMBC game, and I'm not sure how strong a team Hartford is, but they looked pretty damn good. A lot of emotion on that team too. First NCAA berth ever.

I'd say if we're a 14 or 15 we've got a great shot to give someone a run for their money and maybe even upset someone in the first round, but there's no way in shit we make it through two rounds, even though I'd like to be a complete homer and say we're going to the sweet sixteen.

I was clearly being facetious with that remark. I knew that Syracuse had no chance of making the tournament after getting owned by 'Nova.

USC pick sucked, and Belmont was a missed half court shot from making some noise. And Davidson was right on the money.
