Yeah if any of you have seen the video for good charlotte's song hold on. Do any of you agree that it looks like a complete rip off of the blink 182 video for stay together for the kids?

I actually did that notice that yes! I also hate how they copied off of how blink put that fact up before their video, where it said something like "50 percent of marriages end in divorce" And GC said something like "2 million commit suicide each year" or somehting like that. Im glad somebody else noticed that.

Blink 182's 'Stay Together for the Kids' is an amazing song and an awesome video. I love the song, because having parents that got divorced I can relate to it in a small way. Which is one of the reasons why I like their new style ... my old favs (Adam's Song/Stay Together for the Kids) are serious songs, which most of the new album is about.

Good Charlotte? I even hate the name. Ever since the day I heard 'Lifestyles' I have disliked the music they create.

ya ya ya, quit bitching. Shit happens to all of us dude. If my parent's got divorced...god, it would be amazing. But ya, I'm not whining about it. I understand serious music is good...but I think if it's taken in equal proportion with some just..."fun" music...it's better...but ya...about the GC copying blink topic...I noticed that as well...but the GC video was far more effective...it made me crawl under my desk and cry...well...no...but it's more of a tear jerker for me (not the song, the video)

I was just saying I can relate to it, because the same thing happened to me. Hell, I'm glad they got divorced cuz it was for our family's own good.

You are the most insensitive person to ever post on these forums. I hope youre proud.

I hope you and your family all die in a horrific accident where your dad drives a van full of your family members off of the edge of a cliff. And I hope you think of this post while you see the rocky, jagged ground rushing up to meet you.

There, now Im the most insensitive person to ever post on these boards again! And yes, I am proud.

you guys are bitching about a band trying to promote help lines? that's kinda sad.. if they have the power to help a couple of kids out there then i'm glad they are "ripping off" blink

sometimes you just have to look past the band and see that their lyrics are actually helping out kids

Why must everyone hate Good Charlotte? I happen to enjoy their music, even though they do come off as very poppy. Everyone is shitting all over GC all the time, and the fact is Blink ripped Green Day who probably ripped off someone else. Who cares, as long as the music is good. People have their own musical taste, and none is shitty as long as someone out there likes it, except for death metal which i dont even consider music. I dont mean to bitch, but i hate people always bashing GC, tis all.

A couple of things

1)Green Day ripped off the Clash and the Sticky Little Fingers
2)"No music is shitty, except for death metal." Ok, your a fucking hypocrite.
3)The reason everyone knocks Good Charlotte is because they suck, thats all there is too it. We also knock them because they are posers who are profiting off of a genre they in no way truely represent. Good Charlotte are not punk, they are pop who dress punk and sell an image to hot topic and all the thirteen year old mall rats who shop there.

I wouldnt care if you ppl were bitching about good charlotte's music because thats bound to happen, but why bitch about them creating awareness of negative issues, thats just ridiculous

dude, every band in the world has a song about a friend that committed suicide. I agree that Suicide prevention is a topic that should be discussed, but its not like theyre the first people to do it. Plus, if they really cared that much, they wouldnt have released it as the fifth single to their album.

The fact that you have seen this video means that you watch MTV. The fact that you watch MTV means that you are one of the MTV teenie boppers that everybody claims to hate so much.

Ah, the beauty of hypocrisy.

I actually like the video. I think it shows something that people should see. Flame me all you want, but I could really care less what you think. And for 90% of the people saying Good Charlotte sucks...just admit it, you liked them before it was cool to hate them. So cut the shit.

I have NEVER EVER liked Good Charlotte. I hope the twins give each other STDs while having anal sex with each other. As for you liking the video, thats cool, everyone has an opinion, and I agree that it is a topic that should be addressed, but my point is GC isnt doing anything special that they should be commended for or anything like that.

Any similarities between Blink's "Stay Together For The Kids" and Good Charlotte's "Hold On" videos might be due to the fact that they were both directed by the same guy. Just a fun fact for you.

PS. Hi I'm new here. :)

A bigger good charlotte ripoff would be how the title track sounds very similar to mxpx.. its like every song on the album is them trying to be a different a band rips off it's style..
