I'm a huge Finch fan. I have two Finch posters up on my dorm walls and I own the CD. I was just listening to it because I've got a plane ride home Saturday and I wanted some good music for the trip.

I heard "Project Mayhem" for the first time ever - and it is fucking awful. It's like it's an entirely different band singing this song, and that entirely different band blows cock really hard.

I really hope they don't blow it with their new CD.

Yeah, I was thinking the same.

And Mike (i think that's your name rennard ?), have you heard the song "Worms of the Earth" by Finch ? Well, if you haven't..that will probably give you a good idea of what their new record should sound like.

Project Mayhem is an awesome song, how can you not like it? and Worms of the Earth fucking owns too...

Brandon, do you know why they changed the name from Worms of the Universe to Worms of the Earth?

I love project mayhem, and worms of the earth.

I would probably like whatever Finch does, and am definitely looking forward to their new sound

How is that possible? I think this post is a joke because if you are an obvious Finch fan, and have listened to their What It Is To Burn album thoroughly, then you would have come across "Project Mayhem"..

Weird......

Finch is a good listen.

As far as I know, there is no real reason as to why it was changed. I think I remember the band saying it was changed, strictly because Earth fit better in the song title and sounded better.

I love Finch generally, but I hate project mayhem.

And it took a while for me to catch onto liking Worms of the Earth. If this song ends up being representative of what the whole album sounds like, I won't touch it.

First off like everyone else said, how did you not hear it.
Even if you managed to somehow skip that song every time you listened to the cd, if you by chance had seen them live you would have heard it because they almost always play that song.

Second your right that is a different singer, thats the voice of daryl from glassjaw, he sang on both project mayhem and grey matter.

Yeah, that's Daryl, hence the reason why the vocal's a bit different.
I still like the song, I don't think the next album will have the same sound as Worms of the Earth

yessss, every time my friend listens to the grey matter song i think of glassjaw. now i realize why. hah.

If their next album sounds like Project Mayhem and Worms of the Earth, with maybe a little melody from What it is to Burn.... oh god, that will never leave my cd player.

I bought the CD a long ass time ago and lost it before I ever actually listened to it. My friend, the notorious CD burner, just burned me what he said was the Finch CD. Turns out it was missing that song. And, if I may say so, for damn good reason.

I heard "Worms of the Earth" a long time ago and it wasn't anything special. I certainly hope the new album is nothing like "Worms of the Earth." What makes Finch so damn good is the fact that they hit their instruments so hard and they're creative with how they orchestrate their tracks. "Worms" is just a bunch of noise, and the vocals are totally uninspired.

There is always hope.

I disagree, but everone has their own opinion.

I don't know enough about Finch to make an intelligent response....but I'll reply anyway.

If anything, Project Mayhem is awesome just because it's in reference to Fight Club. I don't think I've ever actually heard the song before, though.

Agreed. However, "Project Mayhem" and "Worms of the Earth" are sub-par Finch songs. They can do - and have done - way better. I'm just expressing my hope that the new CD lives up to the old one, and that it's not just a bunch of noise, like those two songs.

I expect them to rip off bands besides Glassjaw on their next album.

there's a rumor going around that the drummer of finch has been kicked out of the band. can anyone confirm this?

There's also a rumor that Randy died on Monday, but I don't believe it.

Hmm i personally think Worms of the Earth sucks dongles...but that's just me. What it is to burn is def. their best song, and the intro to it is just sick
