Anyone as excited as I am?

I'm a huge fan, but the fact remains that Lucas hasn't done anything good in almost...check that, exactly 25 years.

Yeah but there is a team of 5 writers that don't include Lucas, he is just overseeing, I am sure they can come up with something decent and the budget is pretty big.
Yeah I agree with you if you mean the last 3 SW movies as they were shit. The books and the original trilogy are classic and can't be beaten.

Although I am tired of Lucas making more Star Wars projects, I'm still excited because it IS Star Wars & to be honest I don't want it to end.

Exactly, although I could think of better era's/characters it could be based on, it should still be sweet. Does anyone read any of the books?

I've read the Revenge of the Sith series, and I read one book in the Han Solo one. I don't remember which one though. Woah, I'm such a nerd.

Did you watch Revenge of the Sith? That movie was so cool. It wasn't great acting or anything, just the action and everything coming full circle was awesome.
Plus, Last Crusade came out in 1989. By my count, that's 19 years. Wrongage.

I've got all of you beat. I've read pretty much all of the Star Wars books. Except for the young reader books. All of the New Jedi Order, and the new Legacy series as well as reading all of the current series (Legacy, Republic, Knights of the Old Republic) and having most of the past comics on my computer. Need to know anything Star Wars? I'm your man.
Leia and Han's son is a Sith right now, just FYI.

They had twins though. So is it just the guy and not the girl or did they have another kid?
And there is no H in Leia.

You are correct. The son is a Sith and their daughter Jaina is training with Boba Fett so that she can take out her brother, Jacen. They also had another son, Anakin, the best one of all three but the writers/editors and Lucasfilm wasted his character by having him killed in the war with the Vong to prove that anyone could die. Stupid, stupid, stupid mistake that I'm still bitter about.

I know quite a bit myself, albeit probably not as much as you! I just finished re-reading the x-wing series and the Han Solo trilogy, great books!
Anakin and Chewbacca dying were shit decisions I agree.

How great is the X-Wing series though? Some of the greatest books right there. The Han Solo trilogy I still haven't read. I suggest you read Shatterpoint (the Mace Windu book) and Dark Rendezvous (the Yoda book), both amazing books that, particularly in the case of Shatterpoint, actually touch on real issues and themes found in a literary work. Besides that, Legacy is okay so far, apart from killing another major EU character (I won't say who unless you wanna know)...the ending of the series will be the decider of whether I like it as a whole or not. NJO I liked, except for killing Anakin. He had more potential that any other EU character, bar none, and they killed him simply because they didn't want him being confused with Anakin Skywalker. He was what a Jedi is supposed to be, you know?

I am pretty excited for this. I'd like to see what they're going to do with it story-wise. My hunches tell me it's just going to be like Star Wars Tales with no real overlying plot. But I've read a good portion of the books and whatnot so I might as well tune in for this. On a related note, has anyone been reading Legacy of the Force? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

Legacy is pretty good. They need more of total Luke pwnage like in Inferno when he held Jacen like a baby inside his captain's chair. The fight between them two was really intense too. Tenel Ka has been criminally underused, especially as it is her baby's daddy that is the villain of the entire series. I have really high hopes for Invincible, but Revelation was one of my least favorite Star Wars books ever, and I've read nearly all of them. I'm really hoping that Ben steps up and becomes a really great Jedi, much like Anakin Solo was. He needs to be the future of the order. Plus, need more Lowbacca and Saba in this series, heck, more Jedi overall. I'm really hoping that Jaina goes all Nomi Sunrider on Jacen in the next book and strips him of the force without even knowing how she did it. That would be the best ending to him. What about you? What angle you hoping they take with Jacen? Redemption? Death?

Yeah I have only heard about Anakin dying , not yet read about it, what books should I read next do you think?
The X Wing series is immense! I love anything fighter related and they really brough Wedge into life, and I hear Corran goes on to become a Jedi as well? That sounds sweet, they should do a Rougue Sqadron TV series!
Dark Rendezvous and Shatterpoint I will track down, they sound cool thanks :)
I recommend the Han Solo books, the last one in the trilogy shows the beginnings of the whole Rebel thing (hence the name Rebel Dawn ;-) ) and you find out all about Han's history and him getting the Falcon!!

I know about most of it, winning the ship from Lando in a sabaac game. Hmmm...I would read I, Jedi which is about how Corran becomes a Jedi. And then read New Jedi Order and Dark Nest and Legacy of the Force if you're still into it at that point. You can probably skip over some of the NJO books, just don't skip the Enemy Lines Duology or Star By Star or Traitor. Traitor has probably the most badass scene in all of Star Wars books ever. It really is awesome. I would suggest reading that book just for the ending scene. I won't give away details but it's breathtaking.

I'm holding off on Revelations right now cause' I'm finishing up Stephen King's new novel but I have no doubt it will disappoint. I'm not a big fan of Traviss in Legacy though. She spends wayyyy too much time on Boba Fett who is rarely mentioned outside of her books. It seems like she just decided to write him in without anyone else's knowledge. Inferno's final battle was pretty epic, I was so ready for Luke to deliver the coup de grace to Jacen but alas there were still 3 books left in the series. I'm fine with Tenel Ka's level of involvement right now but I wish she would stop flip flopping on the issues. I mean she's pretty much done everything but publicly announce her support of the Jedi. I'm also pretty sure somehow Jacen is going to be spared because they can't have two of the Solo kids die, that'd just be cruel.

Revenge of the Sith was very good. Lucas has done good things, just wait and see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Much of the reason the prequel was bad was because of Hayden Christiansen or Jar Jar Binks, as well as a lot of the dialogue WHICH LUCAS WROTE. The show says that others will be writing some parts, so maybe the dialogue will be better. I believe this will be good, but not 400 episodes that would be suicide. If it's for more mature audiences, it will be better because that way they can be grittier and offer a fresh above PG look at Star Wars. But no Jedis? That might hurt.

They can SAY SAY SAY ALL DAY how there will be not many Jedi in the upcoming series, but I'm fairly sure there's gotta be some, cause Boba is gonna be hunting Jedi as well as Vader during the entire series. I've heard that Quinlan Vos will have a fairly prominent role in the series as well. Also, they need to tie up the fate of Shaak Ti, though I heard you may face her as the Secret Apprentice in The Force Unleashed.
